Unless there are people out there who are immune to hyperthermia, hyponatremia and dehydration, then MDMA is potentially dangerous to anyone.

Does ecstasy cause these effects in people who use it sensibly tho? Or is it just people who dance in hot clubs for hours on end and don't drink any water?

I mean - eating a cheese sandwich is dangerous if you eat it whilst on a rollercoaster. But if you have a reasonable level of intelligence you can eat a cheese sandwich perfectly safely.

my wife doesnt do much of anything but talk and we had a HORRIBLE experience w/ her and dehydration!!

the had been chain smoking and near the end of it she was complaining of different sympyoms....started thinking and realized it was a dehydration/neurotoxcity issue......she drinks responsibly now :-)

i was responding to this post jackass, read all posts and not just the last one

what it has to do with is the "reasonable level of intelligence" part
she knew u need to drink whilst rollin and didnt so she could have paid a bigger price than she did

Ecstasy itself causes dehydration and hyperthermia. You dont have to be moving to become severly dehydrated and overheated when on MDMA.

The dancing and the raving just makes you a lot more susceptible to the effects.

The hypnotremia, however, is usually user fault for being unknowledgeable of the condition, getting paranoid, and binging on water when they should be regulating their intake.

Nah. I've never heard of anyone becoming severely dehydrated and overheated simply from taking E. If it has ever happened then it's a one in a million case.

But the point is if someone isn't intelligent enough to take E safely then they shouldn't really be let off the special bus. We're not talking rocket science here - just take it in a relaxed, safe environment with a little water to hand. That's about as complex as it gets.

I'm not sure that follows. It's like some people having a body that reacts badly when they eat nuts - I suppose they could claim "Nuts are dangerous". But I could eat nuts till they come out of my ears every day and feel fine.

If that's true, you should try dees nuts!

I keed. Anyways, I can't understand these arguments that go on and on. People, be realistic--ecstasy is the kind of drug that really is no more dangerous that a 6 pack of beer or a bicycle.

Are you going to stop drinking beer cuz one douchebag can't handle his liquor or outlaw bikes cuz some crazy kid falls off and cracks his head open?! No, so know your shit, be safe, and roll like a mofo...and if you have an extra, slip one to your good pal, Jimboach.

All I can say is wow, I just spent half an hr reading this forum only. the majority of the posts are fantastically enlightened and well thought out. I'm so glad that everyone has put the time and effort into informing others as much as they can, no matter what their stand point is. Good work guys!

I now feel very foolish for being an ecstacy user and not knowing more about the drug, I'm definitely going to find out as much as I can.

I guess the conclusion that we've all come to is that either way, no matter your stance, more information is needed! If only the government would allow and encourage more research we'd all be a lot safer.

You are making a pretty big assertion when you make the claim that mdma is no more harmful than a 6 pack or riding a bicycle. The problem is that there isn't enough research to know that with any amount of certainty. Remember, just because you don't "feel" the damage doesn't mean that it doesn't exist.

I don't think that mdma is as harmful as the media and the government make it out to be (because they have proved time and time again that they exaggerate the truth) but I am also not about to dismiss the potential that mdma is harmless, and I don't think that anyone else should either.

I feel that MDMA is pretty much safe for most people. But the problem is that people are uneducated and do stupid things like mix it or take to much. There are health issues with even small dosages, but if everyone took a little time to learn about what they were taking they could make an informed choice about taking it.

Also I believe that with the vast amounts of bunk pills out there most people should invest in a testing kit so you know for sure what you are taking.
