As anyone on this forum can attest to, the mods here do an excellent job at (mostly) keeping us in line, without going overboard with rulings and thus; EADD remains a very popular sub-forum. I think we currently stand at the third most active (behind The Lounge, but that place is Hell, do not go ever go there.... except for the nudie threads, maybe :sus: ), and provide what is, to me, the perfect blend of compassion, harm-reduction, hilarity and dickishness. Having observed the general dickishness of some members, and the arguments that erupt with some regularity between posters: how confident would you feel in your capacity to yield an EADD mod-stick?

Discuss.

(I did intend for a poll, but some moderators discriminate against us "cyborgs". :p )
 
It can be hard enough to moderate drug use, let alone this booby hatch on top of it.

I don't think I would want to moderate EADD as it's my only real stomping ground on here. I think I might have put my name forward for here once, I'm not sure. I also put my name forward for cannabis discussion at some point, I think. Cannabis discussion is a pretty entertaining place. You only have to look at a couple of pages of thread titles for a wee chuckle.

I'd just be wary about having to wield a stick in here because I don't want to make more enemies than necessary. I don't know of anyone here who is openly hostile to me but when you're a mod that can very quickly change :\
 
CD is one of those dark corners I lump in with the Loungers - almost every thread is identical, and cliche, the chuckles end after the sixth identical thread of "wat wuz my weed spiked wiv?".

I actually did have ambitions of one day offering to moderate this very forum, I had a pretty solid track record of neutrality, diplomacy, a fair bit of HR knowledge and tidbits and a willingness to help - I think I fucked up my chances by gaining a crack habit and going on a foul-mouthed rant for hours on end that earned me multiple warnings from every then moderator. Then the vendor-shaming, which I do maintain was for the sake of HR - I've posted the WEDINOS evidence for the 3-FPM discrepancies around, without dropping a single hint as to the name of the massive company selling toxic, contaminated products this time (even though it is strike 7 or 8 AFAIK).
 
The only thing I miss about moderating the lounge is the ability to view the nudes that drugged fucked women posted then lost their nerve and deleted after 30 sec.

Except the fatty's, they were right to have second thoughts
 
Not myself! The company selling the samples, their track record is rather terrible when it comes to mislabelling and contaminating products, some of which are/were knowingly highly dangerous. 5-IT, 4,4-DiMAR, anyone?
 
I will admit that, I hadn't even heard the term infraction used on here before I returned. I was gone from some time in 2011 so things evidently got pretty lawless without Don Luigi's calming/sedating influence.
 
I don't think I've ever been officially infracted, though I could be wrong and mods/wizards: feel free to correct me.
I, too, had never heard the term until the last year or so, though said year has been the peak of my BL posting time, lurked for many years until I finally felt educated enough to post in a HR sense (in BDD/OD), comfortable enough to vent in anonymity (TDS) and eventually became a fully-fledged gibber-gabberer here in EADD. Regional ties aside, I do have a certain fondness for this particular sub-forum, or rather the blend of content and even greater mix of posters. :)
 
It's not that exciting TD..

The last Friday of every month though, is when Shambles comes into work wearing nothing but Cat fur bowl, said bowl goes in the middle of the mod room, chuck our drug of choice in and then it's drug lucky dip time ;) We told him just to bring the bowl and wear clothes but, well, he insists... :)

Sprout you'd make a fine mod Imo...

I have not, no - I had "eyes on the prize" for a while, but I must concede that I lack the diplomatic tact of some moderators, the wealth of experience that Shambles has, and the cyborg-like technical knowledge of Julie. The current team are excellent at what they do and much more capable than I imagine I would be. I'd hate to do a disservice to the site, and ultimately the end user, by taking the place of a more qualified or better suited poster.
However, if I was personally asked to volunteer for the role by staff, and had the support of the site users, I would grasp the opportunity with open arms. :)

I don't know, that sounds pretty exciting to me :D I imagine being a mod is a thankless job and infuriating. Actually what am I talking about... I WAS a mod on a gaming forum I helped develop 8/9 or so years ago.

It was okay... Double edged sword!
