Opioids Would Gaviscon potentiate morphine?

I actually don't know the generic name (Gaviscon is a brand) but I THINK when I've been given it in hospital they've just called it "Peptac Liquid"?

So, it actually says on the info sheet that comes with my Gabapentin do NOT take Gaviscon within 2 hours before or after taking Gabapentin because it reduced stomach acidity enough to make the Gabapentin less effective....so surely following that logic, it should reduce stomach acidity enough to make opioids MORE effective?

I double checked because you just made me doubt my year long conviction that gaviscon is one of those antacida that DON'T contain aluminum - and it doesn't. At least not in Germany

I just checked and mine doesn't either (UK).
But the FDA in America (where I assume they live) is MUCH more lax than what we have in Europe/

Wait, I might be way off here, but isn't aluminium (I REFUSE to call it "aluminum" ) a heavy metal?? Like, so ingesting it could cause neurological and muscular issues?

Ive taken it for stomach cramps with morphine and never noticed a difference

Forgive the typo . But yes. It's toxic in higher doses, that's why ingesting SOME antacids too often might lead to some level of poisoning ( which is why I'm picky about which one I take)

I was so relieved when I checked and my didn't contain it either. Food (or anything you voluntarily put in your body) being messed with has always been something that scares me 'cause it's such a horrifying violation. Like, I've seen too many prison shows to EVER eat the food if I was in one.
Have you see the Netflix movie of The Radium Girls? That scene where the main characters sister finds out the effects of radium and how the levels in her body are like 1000 x the safe limit and the next scenes she's in the bath crying and aggressively scrubbing herself? That's kinda how I feel about ingesting ANYTHING I didn't consent to.
