noticed a lemon sativa that hits pretty strong and i don't normally notice sativa v.s. indica... when i use it less frequently, it seems to have a bit more noticable effects... if i have a tolerance, the effects of indica and sativa seem to cross.. a lot of sativa bud isn't even different though... i've been noticing what i remember is probably stronger sativa strains through out my time smoking can actually give me couch lock and it's actually crazier, like when people say indica is short for "in da couch". ... the lemon strain is kind of too much flavor for me. i like to roll joints with it. the taste is actually apparent through the paper. taste is hard to find with a lot of strains when smoking joints for me..... with having a pretty decent tolerance to the sativa, i find if i smoke it even when i've been awake for a while, i'll kind of wake up a bit. it definitely gets me messed up too though. i dunno. it's not super different than the other strains, but it's definitely noticable.
i'm thinking about buying some rso chocolates but i don't have that much money... my parents forgot to have me pay the water bill a couple months back, so i thought i had some extra money, and i've been spending too much anyways... i have to cut back on smoking... i've been kind of just going to bed earlier and meditating and smoking a little less... not too bad. just have to adjust my habbits... when i move out of my parents, i'll be smoking a lot less too.. i've been smoking like between an 1/8th and a quarter a day for like a year now... i'll cut down to like a gram or so probably just smoking a joint one time a day instead of all day like i do now when i move out in a couple years... i've done that for periods before.. it can have it's benfits. like i'm probably more relaxed at more points through out the day if i only smoke once. like if i keep getting baked all day, i'm usually super tired by the end of the day because i'm actually kind of stressed out with smoking all through out the day... i don't really care how much weed i get to smoke as long as i get to smoke like a half gram joint a day (not really grateful if i don't get that opporutnity knowing how much some people have), which i should have more money and time to smoke that much... i'm pretty flexible when it comes to how much weed i can consume... i've gotten medical relief from consuming all different amounts through out the years. although tolerance breaks don't get me much more high, i don't seem to work up too big of a tolerance. like i can loose my tolerance sometimes just by smoking less through out the day. i don't even need to quit... i'd buy some RSO and not smoke with it cause i don't have that much money, but i don't even have the will power to do that. there are two brands i want to try though. oh well.
i definitely talked about this lemon strain before a couple months back in this thread... some lemon strains are pretty strong. it's denser than most of the other buds by that brand.
It seems you not noticing Indica/Sativa before was probably related to tolerance. It was the same for me, but really it's the terps and cannabinoids. The vast majority of Sativa dominant strains are dominant in the most stimulating or energizing terps, with Terpinolene and Pinene being a big 2, but Limonene can also be energetic as well from its euphoria. As far as the general cannabinoids, I'm not as sure, but I've heard Sativas tend to be higher in "THC-V" or something.
Limonene can be found in Indica strains as a dominant terp, but that just makes the stone more euphoric to me. Indica strains are almost always dominant in Myrcene with things like Linalool or Ocimene on the side. The kind of terp profile that will couch lock you or put you to sleep. I personally hate strains like that so I avoid them.
Lemon strains do tend to be pretty strong in my experience. I got this really strong one, Lemon Zephyr which is Super Lemon Haze x Garlic Breath. You can barely even feel the Garlic Breath in there lol, the SLH steals the whole show, probably because of it's Terpinolene dominance. I think that terp may be overall the most energizing one out of them all. Only this and Pinene are supposed to be, although Caryophyllene for me I can find makes me more alert.
Before I went back to thinking it was all the terps/cannabinoids (I'd initially thought Indica/Sativa didn't matter at all either), I have only been getting Sativa anything pretty much for the past year or so. Noticing just how different and high powered the effects were. The way they'd get my heart pumping and my legs unable to stay still and laughing at everything, unbelievable euphoria, it was amazing. I did take a long T-break before I came back to flower, like a year roughly and I'd been smoking daily for a really long time.
That's when I noticed the effects were so much different. But now knowing what I know from a lot of research into the terpenes and the dominant terpenes, I could see that for just about every Sativa strain I really love, Terpinolene is the dominant terp, or it contains Terpinolene and Pinene, in which case the strain will be especially stimulating for me.
So while Indica/Sativa are only really meant to determine what a plant is, technically because of the terps being so consistent across a lot of Sativa strains, it kinda does matter, just not in the way you think. I mean, Blue Dream is a Sativa dominant strain but it's never felt energizing for me. Cerebral, but mostly stoney/relaxing. Pinene is probably why it's cerebral mostly but Myrcene is the dominant terp which is why it's a more sedating Sativa. Blue Dream Blowfish though, that's different. A way more fast paced high. I don't know the terp profile in Blowfish, but it's something stimulating that's for sure.
