Hello
Next month I have to get all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed at once.
Not because there's anything wrong with them or because they're causing me any issues, but because the medical establishment loves to do useless procedures to churn out some extra dollars. I would say no to it but I do have dental issues that I need my dentist to fix, so I guess I'm gonna have to do whatever they tell me to go do.
My question & worry is this; the oral surgeon has already stated that they DO give out a script for a narcotic afterwards.
Should I mention to them about needing something stronger due to my partial tolerance form the bupe? Or should I just keep my mouth shut (pun not intended) and not say anything at all & let them give me whatever they're gonna give me? I fear that if I say I need something stronger that they'll just accuse me of drug seeking & then not give me anything whatsoever.
I worry that they're just gonna throw me some measly tylenol 3's or hydrocodone but I highly doubt that's gonna help my pain whatsoever due to how weak of opioids they are.
And if they're gonna be ripping out parts of my body for no real necessary reason, then the least they could do is give me something decent.
They didn't mention what all they'd be putting out with either. I know propofol will prolly be in the mix, but from the videos I've seen of people after wisdom teeth removal, they seem pretty high as hell. And I didn't feel that way after they gave me propofol for a colonoscopy. So I assume they're going to use more than propofol. Could buprenorphine interfere with whatever else they're gonna use?
Unfortunately many doctors don't even really know what buprenorphine is or how it works, so I'm a little nervous about how this is going to go.
