Not only a truly despicable comment, also wildly inaccurate. Dunblane may be perhaps the most emotive - and was certainly the straw that broke the camel’s back - but he seems to have forgotten the equally lethal Hungerford Massacre. Not to mention multiple lesser-known mass-shootings.
 
Watching that Rupert Lowe interview… didn’t realise he was an antivaxxer too. Ivermectin ftmfw 😃

EDIT: I’m struggling to tell whether his extensively factually inaccurate statements are simple ignorance or malicious disinformation. Perhaps a combination of both… but I’m definitely leaning towards the latter.

Oh, and racist as all get out, naturally.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Anne Widdecombe's recent violent murder.

It seems the police initially ruled out a terrorist attack, but have now re-opened that line of inquiry.

I guess it was probably some kind of extremist lunatic, although it may not have been politically motivated at all.

I hope they find the perpetrator, and what their motives were. Unless they were just completely bat-shit insane and didn't even have any!
 
Pretty sure they already have the guy in custody? Maybe I’m mistaken. Seems they are looking into the terrorism angle which suggests they know more than they’re letting on.

The woman was an undeniable cunt, but nobody deserves to die that way. I won’t be mourning her, but certainly hope they do a very thorough investigation and justice is served.

Politically, she was the polar opposite of most things I believe in, especially her "zero tolerance" policy towards drugs, just incredibly un-enlightened and unprogressive.

But at least she was a politician who knew what she stood for, and was steadfast with that. Unlike so many others before, and after.

Also she seemed likeable in an inexplicable kind of way. For example did you see the 'Louis Theroux Meets Anne Widdecombe' documentary? It was a good watch.

Although Louis Theroux is so capable of bringing out the best or most interesting sides of people. I mean he did that for Jimmy Saville too, so it's obviously more than unfortunate, that that's not the best of yardstciks to be using any more.

It would have been, had Theroux not been so taken in by Saville, that he essentially gave him the benefit of the doubt, during the initial documentary.

Again, great viewing, but for very obvious reasons that episode has aged extremely badly in the light of everything that became known afterwards.

She truly was a hateful cunt though.

Sticking to your guns is all well and good, but when your so racist, homophobic and (weirdly) misogynistic that even the Tories call it out - her own party at the time who are also all three of those things… that takes cuntery to the next level imo 8o

He's also said that he's listened to people on their doorsteps when canvassing in Makerfield, and he knows how much of an issue the currently proposed 10 year freeze on the personal tax allowance is.

He's said that they are going to look at this, probably in the October budget, as he understands it's emerged as one of the major issues contributing to cost of living issues.

Unsurprisingly. The currently proposed ten year freeze of the allowance at its 2021 level until 2031 would be absolutely fucking outrageous.

If he genuinely does something about this extremely unfair policy, that disproportionately hits the lowest earners far harder, then I won't be the only one to be very pleased. It would be shockingly good to have someone in power that actually listens to real people's real concerns, and actually does something about them. I can't remember anything like that EVER happening before.

The way the right wing media has really got their knickers in a twist about Burnham is hilarious, it's obvious they desperately want to sling mud at him, but they simply do not have anything of any substance to use to discredit him. The Daily Telegraph, Mail. Express etc. The usual suspects. The Telegraph seems most desperate of all, with it's "journalism" absolutely scraping the bottom of the barrel for any morsel to throw at him. It was his music taste the other day. Apparently him having disclosed that he's a fan of The Stone Roses is concerning, and the article was entitled "Why we should be more worried about Burnham's music taste." It's just so pathetic and ridiculous! They weren't even joking! At least he sounds genuine and credible with what he's said.. Unlike David Cameron claiming his favourite band was The Smiths, back in his day. As if! As if that over-privileged Eton toff would ever have had anything to relate to The Smith's about!

The only thing I'd have to say Burnham's lacked credibility on so far, was his big statement about fixing homelessness on a national scale, seeing as that situation actually got much worse in Manchester, during his watch as mayor.

If he couldn't fix it in Manchester, how does he plan to fix it nationally?

But that may all be down to being hamstrung by local council budgets etc, which I don't know much about tbh.
