Will i see a decent government before i die?

Nowt wrong with benefits claimants mate, the majority of us are destined to be fully dependent upon state benefits later on in life.

In fact, it's my ambition... 😃

The number of people I speak to whom are in their 60’s and 70’s who are still working purely down to the fact they have too, or have no savings is quite frankly shameful.

Taxed all your life, taxed when you die, and if you’re lucky enough to have a bit saved away for your family, that’s taxed too.

I, like many others in the higher tax bracket have been weighing up the options of moving away from the UK. Shits circling the drain and I want out.

But the highest rate of tax here is lower than most in Europe, unless you want to move to Norway (where the cost of living would eat any tax benefits) or alternatively Belarus, Hungary, Bulgaria or another former eastern bloc country where the rates are extremely low, but opportunities are severely lacking. Even Switzerland is only slightly behind us in the tax race.

There's the opportunity to 'disappear' in Belarus, of course. Which is the lowest rate by far.

Or Dubai, where they have zero tax. But the lifestyle there seems to revolve around air conditioned shopping malls, and needing a car to go anywhere as it's definitiley not a walkable city.

It doesnt really appeal to me. But maybe that would be different if I was wealthy and getting taxed to fuck.

It also looks to be a pretty sure bet that those in the higher tax brackets will be paying even more following the November budget.

Given the condition of the welfare state (and ofc due to the state of ME especially in my initial 40 years or so, but honourable mention to the time since then when there have also been some wild states heh) I'll likely have to work until death if I wanna have a roof over my head, eat ok, be warm enough etc. (I own nothing, no savings,...ok I have a £5k 'buffer' but that's it, decently paid job, all goes on rent etc tho, but I don't want for anything on the daily). Would be dirt poor within a few months of losing job however, if living in present scenario anyway

I'm kind of at peace with it. Sometimes not though.
and I want out.
Yeah, my offspring are thinking similar and I'm not discouraging that thought (they can fukkin take me with them though the bastards, all things considered leaving me here would be a cunt's trick...tbf they have mentioned that they would...but by the time this plan comes together I may have shuffled off this mortal coil anyway. Would be shocked to live another 10 years tbh, but ofc ya never know.

So Reform’s “flagship council” had sunk to even more comically clusterfucky lows. And many still want to elect this cavalcade of unfunny clowns to national government 8o

“But local government is not the same thing as national government!” I hear my Reformist friends cry. No it’s not.

At local level Reform councillors are all but entirely complete amateurs. Surely at national level they’ll be more professional… but at national level Reform politicians are just Tory defectors. Literally rejects from even the Conservative Party.

Who would vote for this party of questionable quality? Not I, naturally, but if you them maybe take a long, hard look at Reform councils and reconsider.

I'm fuckin done with politics.

I was always apolitical until Brexit reared it's ugly head, Johnson became PM, and the utter shambles that followed.

As a result, I identified as 'left wing'.

But recently, i've come to the conclusion that the left are just as bad as the right, if not more so.

If I hear one more blue haired lesbian chanting "from the river to the sea", when they probably have no idea which river, or which sea, I think I'll chop her dick off.

Fuck politics.
You & I sit in the same camp, I have had this view for years.
As I keep saying it doesn't matter if people are "Left" or "Right" it's two sides of the same coin.

I really think Reform will get so many MP's at the next election, it'll take a while of them running things before everything goes to shit & all the people who voted them in will finally see what a load of nutcases they really are.

All these white, middle class types who live in small villages who wish the UK was like Downton Abbey & also the working class, tattoo's of a Bulldog behind a Union Jack Flag on their arms will vote for Reform 100% & sadly those types buy into the words of Farage & his Cult members so much.

The Reform lot are even more set in a Cult type mentality than Labour's Momentum.

Have you considered that these people form their political opinions coherently the same as everyone else? Many of them will vote Reform solely to reduce immigration, rather than desiring the Thatcherite economic polices.

The working class ones might be more suited to an economically left wing / socially right wing party like the SDP, but the SDP get about 10 votes wherever they stand.

Plus immigration is a reasonable reason to vote for a party, considering the negative second order effects it has,

Yes I have sadly.
I must be dropped off from a UFO as I've always seen through the smoke & mirrors.

And all the English people who move to Spain & live in caravan parks & have no a single desire to adopt "Spanish" Culture also fit into this statement.

But is it worth losing the NHS for?

FFS people, do NOT fall for Farage's bullshit again. Let Brexit be a reminder for you all...

100%

Years of further austerity and privatisation of the NHS aren’t a price worth paying for not even a meaningful guarantee of reduced immigration.

Personally I don’t think any party has a grip on how to deal with mass immigration in a calm, nuanced and pragmatic way. Least of all fukkin Reform. And if you think otherwise I’ve got a bridge here to sell you…

:sarcasm:

I remember at my former workplace, the factory had an 'Independence Day' party. The offices were mostly Remain / indifferent.

After the dust settled, they were wondering why all the foreigners weren't being deported. Never underestimate stupidity.

And the funniest thing was where Facebook gossip told people to bring pens to the Brexit polling stations so 'they' couldn't erase their votes. They can barely get a count done in an evening, let alone employ nefarious tactics with a Staedlter. And why would they even bother? They could just declare another result.

Sure, the Spanish Gov can kick them out if they want. A lot of the Spanish want them gone already but they bring a lot of money in

The NHS is a dreadful healthcare system. And don't start crowing about America, there are plenty of other countries with socialised healthcare that actually works, for roughly the same amount of money.

I very much doubt Reform would get rid of the NHS anyway, for whatever reason people in Britain literally worship it, so it would be political suicide

I have no desire or need to say anything upon the American health care system, maybe I am mad but I believe in total free & universal health care.
