(answered) Why were the "what are you listening to" threads closed?

it would be in line with how a lot of sub-forums are ran so I'd say stick to your guns

I've never understood why so many people on different websites care about post count. I just don't get it.

Same. Also gives an insight into people's personality

I nearly always listened to others links if it wasn't something I had heard before but never commented much because I thought it would disrupt the flow of the thread. I couldn't give a shit about post count, I've deleted more posts than I have so :|

And if you want to talk about boosting post count with pointless crap just look at the lounge 8)

I see your points. But do you understand that's not what we're trying to deviate from? We're not trying to put a halt on sharing music and helping people discover new stuff. Just aiming for better organization.

And while I'm on the topic, I think it's silly to close a thread, then open it, then close it again...and say that the thread will be open again in the future. What the hell...?

Again, have you PM'd the mods from that forum and asked them about why they did that? It's unlikely that they will stumble upon your post in this thread about what they did in another forum (especially since the title of this thread is in reference to a completely different thread in a completely different forum), so the best course of action is for you to either PM them, or report the post that said the thread was going to be closed and then reopened at a later date and voice your opinion in the report.

if i'm in a restaurant and i order a drink and the server forgets to bring it, i don't get on the phone and try to talk to the ceo of the corporation which owns the restaurant. i ask the server next time they are passing - politely mind you - "i ordered a drink. could i please have it?"

if i do the latter, it's almost as if i have a problem and i'm interested in solving it constructively. if i do the former, or i do nothing, it's almost as if i don't care about the actual problem, i just want something - anything - to complain about and i'm really more interested in being angry than anything else...

one makes a whole lot of sense. the other, not so much.

don't get me wrong, the former is a perfectly valid course of action but, if that's what you choose, don't be surprised when nobody gives a shit when you say anything. make sense?

Actually, I recently PM'd three moderators of a forum about a question I had...two responded and I got my answer.
