life5 it can be very disorienting. To me set & setting don't really matter at a certain point. Usually the first times I took acid I would have something planned for the beginning hour or two, but eventually you get distracted and go off doing other stuff.
Then 3-4 hours in, if you took a lot, usually you end up pretty "disconnected" or "dissociated" even. I think "bewildered" is probably my favorite word for it. "Confused" can work as well. A lot of times this can mean laying on the couch or ground staring, or just closing your eyes and watching the patterns.
I agree with these guys that say you are doing too much, but at a the same time you may have gotten as much of a quality acid experience as possible for each of those uses.
By quality I don't mean you had a great time, you just got what the drug has to offer. This would be compared to taking say 5 hits of really weak acid and barely feeling anything, or some bunk shit all together, or having done other drugs to overpower the experience entirely.
Generally I find the best part of the acid trip to be the come up because you have the most control and grasp of reality and understanding of what you are doing. If you don't at least enjoy the come up then acid might not be your thing.
I'd suggest trying it out a music event next time, I think being around a lot of people will help you feel more social. It helps when you can look around and most everyone else has a similar stare in their face and huge pupils to match. If you are tripping around a bunch of sober people it might not be as fun for you because it is hard to relate with sobriety under the influence. Just make sure you don't dose too high and perhaps bring some other goodies if it is a long event (as long as you are not driving home!

) in case the low dose leaves you wanting more. Remember you can only do acid once per night then tolerance flies through the roof (it remains high for the next few days).
Oh yea what do people want to feel? I think you hit it with the enhanced sensory experiences, but recognize a lot of baggage can come with it. Acid, like most psychedelics, has a dark side and can bite your ass if you don't know what you're doing.
Other times it is not about the sensory experience as it is just getting high or taking your mind to a different or new place, regardless of what the outcome is... part of what is neat about psychedelics is it can be hard to predict what the night will be exactly, so whether good or bad, you know you are in for something fresh.
