Why does Christian religion hate sex?

I'm not really a religious person but why do I get the impression that Christianity say sex is a sin or sex before marriage is a sin, maturbation is a sin, any pleasure is a sin, ain't this religion old hat now? Nothing wrong with it as long it's safe and is with someone you love. Why do people feel guilty about masturbation solo sex, is it harmful or harmless fun time?
 
I've noticed the Evangelicals/Protestants focus on this a lot more than the others (Catholicism, Orthodoxy) but yeah it's pretty irritating especially in the USA where Evangelicals make up most of the Christian population.
 
In many religions, that is true. There is no good reason for it. There is no good reason for many "sins" in the bible. So the answer is that there isn't a reason why sex is considered bad... it just is... that's what many religious people go with.
 
So you will partake in the Christian marriage ceremony at the Christian church. It also makes for a great guilt-trip. Who can resist fucking and masturbating? Our bodies were programmed that way so our species would survive.
 
My friend and old boss is a devout christian. He has 13 kids.
I think they look down on condoms/having sex for pleasure instead of reproduction. Not just sex in general.
Im also a catholic, and i love to have sex and fap.
 
What's the difference between Christian and catholic? I even fancy a gal who went to a posh catholic school, can we mix?
 
It's to keep control over people. If you restrict people's ability to get pleasure and fulfillment through other means like sex, they are left to look to religion to provide those things, or to other activities that are not as intense and that don't draw people away.

Also, by restricting contraception and abortion, not only do you reduce sex for pleasure (by making it too risky), you create loads of adherents because people end up having lots of babies.
 
Chistian - catholic is like opiate - heroin. Christian is a group with similiar beliefs included in the group are baptists and catholics i think

i think it's because it's an old ass religion and sex DID used to be a bad thing before birth control/protected sex. unwanted babies etc.

nowadays i think they need to update their shit.

religion is a tool of the power structures of its time. both islam and christianity encourage you to have lots of children because rulers in the past needed armies as did religions to fight each other.

That's a very large, intricate topic, but I'll try to summarize it: It stems from the writings of the Church Fathers, who were themselves influenced by a combination of Hellenistic and Near Eastern philosophies (Platonism, Neo-Platonism, Manichaeism, etc.) that put the mind and spirit above the body and the world. One reading of Augustine's Confessions will tell you pretty much everything you need to know about the Church's formulation of lust and original sin, IMO.

Unsafe sex is unsafe. You get diseases.

Waiting until marriage is best, for the enlightened. But usually by the time people might reach enlightenment they're long past the ability to wait for marriage.... And many that might wait until they are with that one "safe" partner can't fully appreciate it and are doing it because they're indoctrinated, I feel it might be likely.

The world just has too many people doing what they do.

One key thing about Christianity is that we are all sinners. We will always sin. This doesn't mean we need to go to hell over it. People often get confused and throw the baby out with the bath water.

They don't hate sex. Christianity doesn't hate sex.

I think one big thing is a striving to make use of ones time. And for fulfillment.

Christianity is divided up into several categories, such as Protestantism and Catholicism. There are several different varieties of Protestantism eg. Baptist, Methodist, etc. There are also different varieties of of Catholicism, including charismatic. Pick your poison.

This post sounds more Protestant. We all sin. Ask the Lord into your heart and all will be forgiven. Unless you commit suicide. Then you're fucked.
 
The word sin is apparently the same as forget/sin means forget.

They prohibit lust to regulate desire. Early on the communities needed sexual regulation to have a growing community centered around a religion which in this case, Christianity. Also early on women (in most religions) were basically bank accounts.

Because it is righteous to marry someone, and give all your love & sexual desires to that one person.


OR! You could engage in a bunch of homosexual orgies & contract HIV. You could impregnate a bunch of women, then leave them as single mothers with fatherless children. You could sit around that house all day and jerk off to barley legal teen & interracial cuckold porn...

No one can be the perfect human or humane person. We do act like a bunch of animals. But we can strive to be better. Its pretty much impossible for a human not to engage in sexual desires, and that is why it is righteous for a man & woman to get married.

We can learn from the philosophical teachings on the way to live life right. Weather it be Buddhism or Judaism, it is all good stuff.

I mean I get that you could be sensitive to homosexual stereotypes (although somehow I doubt you looked up the statistics) but why did you jump into having a bunch of orgies? Telling people that the big buy in the sky will condemn you to eternal suffering for breaking *his* law was (and sometimes still it) the easiest and most affective way to controlling people..

In them days I'm sure it was meant to stop rapes (although if you read the book, you'll notice a few times where God A - OK's rape) and unwanted pregnancy within a group, country or society.. etc etc..

Not just Christianity. Pretty much every major religion. It's because sex is too much fun. And fun is bad. You are only allowed to have fun after you are dead.
