Why do we fear stimulants?

I used to LOVE stimulants. Now I can't stand them because I constantly get a slowed down hyper focus effect that makes me moody, antisocial, and very easily enraged.

They would eventually become irritable from lack of sleep and appetite. I don't think you've looked at the facts, stimulants aren't fearful. For me they carry the burden of messing with my delicate sleep cycle, which is why I use them sparingly. I only use traditional stimulants now on very rare occasions.

I dislike them for the comedowns, the paranoia.....But fear them? No; the highs are too damn high.
Does society fear speed? Fuck knows. I guess material like those "faces of meth" campaigns come into play, I'm sure it's made meth seem like a very scary drug to some some people.
 
I think society is comfortable with certain stimulants. Like ADHD/ADD medication...hell, my aunt is even on one now. And she's a cop. I think recreational cocaine use is also generally socially acceptable, at least more so than shooting meth or smoking crack.
 
It's probably been said already but, I don't agree that our society fears stimulants. Not even close. So many people are prescribed Adderall and Ritalin or similar drugs for ADHD including young kids. Not to mention all the coffee chains all over like Starbucks for example and all those awful energy drinks at gas stations, including those 5 hour energy shot things. Oh, and can't forget about all those college kids using Adderall for school. I'm not judging though, to each their own.

Speed is my favorite drug, Meth being my number one and I also use Adderall.
Which also brings me to my point from above. I don't think people fear stimulants, but they fear meth, and for good reason, I can't argue that. Thing is, I used to despise and fear any kind of amphetamines. I was down for all kinds of downers like heroin, benzos and whatever but fuck amps. I even made fun of people who I heard were doing Adderall. I was super ignorant. That changed when I smoked meth for the first time a few years ago back and I fell in love pretty much instantly. Crazy shit indeed.
