Erm, anyway. Your user-name story was actually quite decent.

Shows how judgemental people are and how they like to demonise and alienate someone because they're different. How they have no idea of the complexities and circumstances which have lead you into your lifestyle, yet think they know better. Though mocked that time, and in the minority of the village... you have not joined them in ignorance and that gives your individuality an enigma.

Possibly anyway. It's getting late and im babbling now.

I explained the reason for my current username in a PM recently and realised just how embarrassingly tenuous the reasons were but at least this one isnt as irritating (to me) as the last At The Moment ;)

You may well be right, though effie was the person who consistently used it.

I never thought my original name would get shortened to 'Sam', or I probably wouldn't have chosen it, as it's a bit weird getting called by a bloke's name that isn't mine. When I was spending far too much time on BL, I would actually sometimes respond if I heard somebody say 'Sam', which was a bit of a headfuck to say the least.

Changed it to Myshkin for a bit. Still got called 'Sam'. Fuck the lot of you.
 
Yeah tbh I knew you initially as Samhain Grim and shortening that is easier so you're stuck with Sam, I'm afraid :D Anyway Sammy G sounds gangsta

She did pick it up and run with it, yes. I've always had a tendency to personalise folks' user names but did notice that yours stuck fast pretty much from the getgo. Can quite understand the annoyance at being called 'Sam' all the time too. I had actually assumed it was your name right up until I found out it wasn't. Which was probably a lot later than you'd expect :o
 
Innaresting Shammy...I always assumed it was a Doherty/Albion/yada yada reference....which I guess in maybe some perverse roundabout way it was! I still don't know how you ended up in rural wales.....or at least don't remember :D
 
Yeah, I think most folk think it must be a Doherty reference. Especially as I've often mentioned having a massive soft spot for the fella and his tunes. Was nothing to do with him afaik though. I was being called that before he formed Babyshambles so I don't think it's a direct reference. Never actually asked where they got it from although I do know one of those that used it a lot. Either way, it's mine all mine now. Petey Baby can find his own nick :D

Oh, and I ended up here in Welsh Wales cos I needed somewhere to go to get away from my junkydom life cos it was dragging just a wee bit. Rather a lot actually. Most of my friends were either dead or locked up by that point and I really was sick of the whole lifestyle. My family had moved here several years previously and I didn't really have anywhere else to go. Was only meant to be 6-12 months at most whilst I tapered, quit and generally got my shit together. Decade or so down the line... 8)

Moving back to some form of civilisation is very much the plan. It's a lot easier said than done, unfortunately. Ah well, will get there in the end. Get where is still somewhat debatable, mind.

Really? lol, I always think about Barry the Sprout when I see you post, but assumed your name had nothing to do with him.. Awesome.
 
My middle name is Lee. I grew a pot plant in my room in my 'rent's house once a few years ago, which turned out to be male. The rest is self explanatory..
