Speaking upon experiences I know that benzos not so much potentate my high but instead add to it. opioids and benzos combined creates the feeling of no worry, euphoric happiness. They go together like bread and butter. Upon its effects on the brain something doesn't seem to add up right.
I recently read a passage of exactly how opioids effect the brain. Obviously the most common are endorphins. When endorphins are stimulated gaba is decreased as a result of gaba being decreased dopamine is released. There are other neurotransmitters involved but these are the ones that are important for the sake of this thread. So if taking benzos act upon gaba wouldn't that decrease the high as it would also mean less dopamine is released? Yet instead its just the opposite. Also, if taking opioids decreases gaba, wouldn't that mean increased anxiety in the brain? Iv never heard of anxiety while taking opioids so endorphins probably do something for anxiety regardless of gaba but how?
