Who's your favorite "Fucked Up", "Stoned Out" "Totally Wasted" songwriter?

She was/is certainly an ego maniac who in the end created more problems for him than she solved. I do think that he was a suicide waiting to happen. Deeply introspective, highly sensitive, wanted to create something hugely popular but not equipped with the personality to deal with the intrusion that came with being the megastar that he became.

^ I'm pretty sure Wesley Willis wasn't on drugs, just schizophrenia.

Also props for mentioning Manson - people don't like to talk about it, but he made some pretty good music.
 
Old Aersosmith..."Get Your Wings" album.."Lord of the Thighs" "Pandora's Box" "Seasons of Wither"...the best Aerosmith is from when they were raging heroin addicts IMO...I see many artists mentioned already that I love too lol .. even Johnny Cash "Folsom Prison"...:D

currently living? I'd say Peter Doherty (Libertines, Babyshambles) amazing songwriter who's supposedly doing ok right now, but is a heroin and crack addict.
Jay Reatard (r.i.p.) is another favorite, unfortunately died from a cocaine/alcohol overdose. Elliott Smith (r.i.p.) - years of heroin, crack, alcohol, addiction but wrote so many amazing songs.
