Your Favorite Musicians And Their Drug Use

I'm always fascinated by the connection with the artists I like, and the drugs they use, or have used in the past. If I'm getting into a new album, or watching a documentary, I'll find myself trying to find out if some drug, or some trip got them there.

Just to open up an open-ended discussion. Examples of some of your favorites. Good songs that came out of drug use. Times that they interfere with careers. What kinds of connections and influences these things have. How it changes people's opinions. Things like this...

More recently, I've enjoyed the work of Pete Doherty. ^These people are all, or have been, smacked out, if that is the qualifier here.
 
Ryan Adams is super talented as a songwriter, but he definitely has a lot of unlistenable shit due to his whininess.

Jimi Hendrix is my main man for this thread though.
