who's an amateur photographer here?? show your wares!!

I am and I've seen a lot of good stuff here. If anyone has some pics they want to post on the net and doesn't know about fotolog or flickr, you def. should! You can post several pix a day for free and upgrade for more features for like 50 bucks a year.
Fotolog is a little less slick but I started there and have many friends who refuse to switch to flickr. PM me if you want my sites.

there's some great photos in here.

these are a couple of photos that i took a month or so back, when i was in singapore.

i also finally enrolled myself into a short photography course the other day. i'm really looking forward to it.

So I finally got my 400D! Woo-hoo! :D

Ended up buying the twin lens kit, which is the EF-S 18-55 and the EF 90-300. Got a pretty sweet post christmas sale price. And now I've developed a serious case of lens envy - reckon I've got about $3000 worth of lenses on my wish list! I think the next one I need is a macro lens, and I know the EF-S lenses might not be very future safe, but I like the look of the EF-S 60mm f2.8 USM macro. Would make a pretty good portrait lens, as well as the obvious close up stuff. And I'm also thinking that due to my shithouse unsteady hands, I really need an image stabalising lens to replace the 18-55mm kit lens as my standard. But I don't really have a clue what to get (that won't blow the budget to hell and back).

I think this goddamn expensive hobby will be the death of me! :D

Oh, and I was also thinking, is there anywhere that you can rent lenses from (like borrowing a library book), to get those crazy photo's you've always wanted to take, but just can't justify the expense? I'm thinking that the EF 15mm f2.8 fisheye would be awesone fun, but for my purposes it would just be an expensive novelty. I'd love to be able to rent one for a weekend or something, get my shots, and then return it and avoid having to eat 2 minute noodles for a year (which would happen if I bought it outright)!

I Want My... Camera Back.

Mr. Mr. Horse,
That photo of the power-lines has me completely captive.

6 Days, L-Daddy.

These were taken during my trip up north to my aunt's 70th birthday party. The first lot were taken on my cousin's property and the second lot on my uncle and aunt's property. They both live about 3 hrs north of Brisbane, around Maryborough.

AlphaCharlieID, I really like the first and second in your series. :)

Here's one of my favourite shots from Christmas with the family. I was hunting dogs for a large portion of my time there, bending down and snapping like a mad woman hoping for the elusive winning shot.
This is it. =D

^Her name is May and she's my Aunty's new puppy. She's a darling and is helping her to come to terms with her husband's tragic death almost exactly one year ago this Christmas just gone.

A Picture Of A Beautiful Metal Creature.

This isn't the best copy of this picture - I ruined some of the quality trying to cut the file size down.

But here goes... this was taken at the base of the Jin Mao Tower in Pudong, Shanghai, just before we headed up to the 87th floor to 'Cloud 9' "the world's highest bar" which provides a wonderful view of the city (not to mention stunning staff and some of the nicest cocktails you'll ever taste).

^I like how you can't really tell if the pink cartoony character is something on the fence or a sticker on the window :)
