I would like to submit my application to marry the girl in 2c-buoyant's photo

She's taken, but if your anywhere near PA we can most definately meet up for some intimate consensual fun "wink wink"... PS i tried PMing you but apparantly I've yet to obtain bluelight "status", funny considering I've been browsing the board since 99...

PM me for picks of us! I got a good one i took recently of a new surface bar she gave me...

wow, kat. those photos are amazing :) did you use a tripod? they're very clear.

i'm also you could say obsessed with city lights at night. in fact, any form of lights at night (suburban street lights etc).

i went on a mini night photo shoot last weekend generally testing out my camera, and without using a tripod, cos they're such a hassle :\ but worth it cos if i had of this picture:

would have turned out better if the city in the background wasn't slightly blurry, and also if the sky was a little less pixelated.

in this pic i used my flash to try and compensate for the lack of tripod and the effect was quite cool, i thought. so you never know, it's good to play around sometimes.

Yeah, that was the first time I used my tripod. So exciting hehe :) Those were from my digi cam which really needs to be upgraded. I took some (just of the city) on my SLR but haven't had the film developed yet. Night-time shots are probably my favourite thing to take.

Bloss... you should check out this shot. It's not mine (I only wish), but it's awesome.

I've got no image stabilisation on my camera, so without a tripod, this was the result:

those fireworks shots are awesome, beautiful composition.

Another portrait, with very shallow depth of field.

Very nice work kat :)

Can any of you recommend a decent book/website on using an SLR? I still don't feel particularly comfortable with everything. I'm interested in something that maybe has tutorials/suggestions on using the best settings for different types of photography.

http://www.canon.co.jp/Imaging/enjoydslr/index.html is quite good for starting out.

Just punch in "DLSR tips" in to google. There are a plethora of great sites out there.
