Who is sick of tv reality shows ?

yes, its getting abit out of hand these days, theres a reality show for everything.
i must admit that i do watch one or two, but, most of the time they shit me.

i'd realy like to see a reality show like that movie, i forget the name, but the object of the ''game '' was to kill people and get points or prizes for how many people they killed, and it was all filmed for t.v. [ something like that ]

does anyone know the name of the movie ???
 
^^ Do you mean Battle Royale? With the school students murdering each other on the island? I saw that purely because I couldn't imagine the censorship board passing it.
 
^ Was it any good? I have it sitting on my computer but the whole no subtitles thing turned me off :)
 
the only reality tv show worth watching is the osbournes, god i hope i don't end up as drug fucked as ozzy

The movie is Series 7 and it is an awesome film which everyone who dislikes reality television should watch. In fact everyone should watch it :) The irony is amazing.

Sounds kind of like The Running Man... Although of course the book was much better :)

Also sounds kind of like Deathrace 2000 although I'm not going to admit to having seen that...
 
^^ I thought of the Running Man immediately.. but will definately check out those other two flicks when i get a chance..

and i hate to say it.. but I really used to love reality tv shows.. pretty much everything Big Brother, Jackass, Dirty Sanchez, Stevo, bits of Idol, DIY Rescue and Backyard Blitz and little bits of The Block.. as entertaining as it is.. I am OVER IT.

Television is a mind control tool. I have sat on my arse in front of the tv for a few years now, but not anymore!
Havent even turned it on for about a week. Feels great.. I actually feel like I have a bit more energy, and I'm in the middle of a break up.. so go figure! :)

doofqueen was very right in saying that it fills the void though.. especially in a stagnant relationship..

Oh yeah.. one last thing.. I s'pose it's not all that bad - Reality TV that is.. did anyone see the Wedding special of DIY? the girl is one of my friends! she's so lucky! they spent $150K on her house and wedding.. got to keep the $7000 Valini gown, wore a $100k diamond necklace on the big day! pretty cool..

LOL.... it was a funny crazy movie, but that japanese movies for you :D Blockbusters has them..... very bizzare movie, yet I enjoyed watching it.
 
series 7 is a bloody awesome movie....i wouldn't put it past america however if they have a reality tv show like that in a few years though!

but i too am a reality tv junkie, i don't love all reality tv shows, i hate the diy type shows and renovation shows just because i find them boring but i am a survivor junkie *so pumped for survivor all stars* and i don't mind watching an episode here or there of big brother....but i will admit that i like watching american/australian idol, just because of the auditions stage *so very very funny* .... so im a reality tv fanatic......hmmmm oh well i like stupid 'soapies' like neighbors and nip/tuck too, im just easily entertained :)

Don't like reality tv shows, I enjoyed Aussie Idol, though I don't really know how Aussie Idol 2 is going to work in terms of getting quality singers and performers to compete with the standard of performers on the first Aussie Idol. That's another issue and I won't go into that now. I watched plenty of reality TV when the concept was quite new to television but i'm over it now.

Reality TV makes me sick to the core! Are people so moronic that the poorly acted 'insights' on everyday life provided by such 'luminous' shows such as neighbours are not enough? Now people are addicted to watching vacous trogladytes carooning in the whatever the next fabricated situation the reality TV brainstrust come up with! Quite simply screw the fuck puppets in these shows and the fuck puppetmasters pandering this rancid faecal discharge to the lowest common denominator!
 
I must admit, I have a thing for Survivor. There is definetly something about watching the complacent humanity of American software developers and middle managers progressively degenerate until they become nothing more than a bunch of starving, parainoid, desparate insect eating freaks. Where else can you see joe fuckwit corporate trainer burst into tears and collapse after missing out on a few cans of coke in a reward challenge? I observe it with dark, merciless glee. Don't hate me.

That said, survivor more resembles a bizzare ironic gameshow rather than reality TV. Stuff like big brother bores the shit out of me. More interesting stuff happens in your average suburban sharehouse, and the inmates usually at least get laid...

Australian Idol was like all the shitty guest music acts on Hey Hey its Saturday! rolled in to one long season of boring mediocrity. However, that is but only my opinion.

"Lifestyle" programs are my personal hate. Fuck them all. Fuck them right in the ear...
 
I had utter vitriol for reality tv when big brother first started....then I realised that literally every single other person I was friends with would talk about nothing else, so I had to start watching it just to be able to talk to them (I'm not exaggerating either...I'm talking about cancelling social engagements because they'd miss BB). So I got sucked into it all for a bit, but now...now I'm far less hardcore in my hatred of it, but it does nothing for me.

I think it's a shame that the people involved in these shows are taking jobs away from the actors, screenwriters, directors etc of even our crap other options, and I think there should be far more creative and/or relevant stuff on our screens, but all I can really do is not take it so seriously, cause it ain't changin' anytime soon. :\ Doesn't mean I have to watch it though...
 
some stupid crap on last night.... a group of people had to build a swimming pool..... fucking scintilating material. I hear their working on a show where they see who can sniff out a drug stash in a nightclub within a few hours....should be good.
 
Well, I was unfortunate enough to be watching the new Reality Show series, 'The Hothouse' last night.

And wow. What an absolute horrific excuse for a show.
And this, you may note, is coming from a self professed Reality fan. :\

By compiling a group of power hungry models, they have clearly tried to make the series more active and full of confrontation.
Instead, they have wound up with the most ignorant and unintellignet people I have seen on T.V for a long time, providing little to no intrest for the viewer at all.

They have spray-painted their workboots for fuck's sake. 8)

I can't see this going much further.
Sorry TEN, I think maybe the formula is just not working anymore? Perhaps you should have stopped while you were ahead?
 
Like anything I suppose, they'll keep thrashing the idea until the $'s stop coming in..... enjoy it while it lasts!:D It will be interesting to see what new big thing is after reality tv....although, prob years away :\
 
My mission was to go on big brother and get kicked out, for either smoking weed, talking about drugs, or just not following the stupid rules. However i decided against it when i thought i may wanna get a job one day :)
 
i was thinkng about going on big brother.. but i would probably be one of the tragic people in the house.. crying all the time.. or first kicked out..
