Who is sick of tv reality shows ?

Yeah reality tv bites. I basically find that the ppl that really want to get their 15mins of fame and appear on tv, or are the sort of ppl willing to have that invasion are not interesting ppl in the first place so they make for seriously boring viewing. I didn't watch tv for the whole of last year, it was very refreshing!

ok, I'm sick of reality TV, and i don't even own a television. People at work talk about it on their lunch break!

But hey, I do my best to avoid it, so I can't complain. I do miss the odd excellent program on ABC & SBS (and yes, even ABC has reality shows: Trauma - life in the ER [excellent actually] and the 1940's/Fronteir house series) which is a pity, but overall I find being TV free means I accomplish more and actually have a life rather than obsessing over someone else's on the screen.

1234 - totally with you. The shows wouldn't be made if they didn't rate so well. I guess your average Joe (no pun intended) really does enjoy seeing some of the basest aspects of human nature put up for public display.

I'm sick of tv fullstop let alone with the reality shows. But i have heard they have been coming out hard and fast and seem to be multiplying rapidly....people will watch anything these days :\

I gave up tv about two years ago because i actually was addicted to it but it was a bad point in my life and it seemed to fill the void. Have felt so much better since. Do alot more stuff for myself. Think my own thoughts and am not getting sucked in by all the marketing it's producing. It's getting really bad. Or maybe it always was and i was just blind to it...i dunno :p

tv sux...seriously do something else with your time hey...like ummm post on forums :p ;)
i only openned this thread to see what you wrote in it!

D. I. Y. Shows Rock My World !!!!!

I have no shame in admitting my television viewing habits =D

I love reality TV shows. I pretend not to, but I'm just transfixed by the multitude of reality TV that's currently available. I'm especially fascinated by Extreme Makeover - it's like a train wreck. I don't want to watch, but I have to.

I do love TV though. I'm a soapie, talk-show (Oprah, The View), anything-with-court-cases, cartoon, Olsen Twins watching freako. But I do watch documentaries now and then. And I don't think it's affecting my brain too much - no more than the drugs did anyway, eh? ;)

"No one ever went broke underestimating public taste."

I'm not sure who said that, and it may not even be verbatim... But you get the point :)

We are a varied bunch of different cats....but that makes it all good hey!

ps: For those with Foxtel, there is a great audio channel. Ch 24 - Eurobeat. Plays hard dance, trance, hard house etc... 24/7, luving it.

Also, for those who like all the reality rabble, I think youll adore the Anna Nicole Smith Show. :p ;)

woops , Sorry Anna.... you meant the audio channel 24.
To listen to audio on foxtel you press the music symbol on the remote. The screen then goes black and you flick through the music stations. Thinks theres about 24 channels on mine. (I have satelllie, could be diff on cable)

Don't ask me, i never watched much TV as I work during the prime hours on TV, I am often too busy on the computer or at the pub on weekends, I am just happy enough with my DVD's.

i'm sick of tv all together... i mean, there are great shows on there... (will and grace, simpsons, south park) :) and maybe some documentarys you always seem to get sucked into.. but other than that, it's absolute shit. rotting our free minds.

i always think of it as an outsiders point of view. lets say your dog or cat. i wonder what they're thinking when they see us sitting in front of this thing for hours on end, just staring.. u know. maybe i think about things too much..

I am absolutely shocked to the core every single time I watch, 'Extreme Makeover' [almost every week, I'd have to admit]......yet that forms part of the entertainment I get from the show. :\
The fact that I'm transfixed, and it promotes major conversation with my brother [housemate] and I.

PS - There's absolutely nothing wrong with pretty colours. :p
