"Ill take a good bean if its Green n mean."
Im hoping this thread is cool, Im not out to speculate which artist take drugs and which dont, so lets steer away from that.

Raves and music festivals are spreading across America right now. This is a HUGE industry and alot of cities are welcoming the business into their local economys. The US is turning electronic music mainstream....I love it!!

But as with anything that grows, the larger it gets, the more attention it gets. The crowds get larger so the chances of certain people making dangerous decisions in the crowd gets also higher.

Recently at a certain event in dallas, someone died

So now Skrillex is pissed. I think its awesome he is shouting out to his fans to be responsible and not get fucked outta there minds

I heard Kaskade also did an anti-ecstasy commercial. I cant seem to find a link to the video though.

Now Im not saying that DJ's should demonize ecstasy, but wouldnt it be nice is more artist preached harm reduction? I mean kids these days are fucked outta there mind...its out of control!

They need decent roll models (no pun intended) to look up to. None of these artist became successful by doing beans and I worry about whats gunna happen to all these kids in the future...

Do you guys have any other examples of celebrity types preaching harm reduction? Post your links if you can find them too.

GO!

Harm reduction needs to happen on a more personal level imo, friends informing friends and stuff, but I get what you're saying.

lol quadstack.com.. hahaha.... Umm yea Skrillex is a d-bag, he takes after deadmau5 so theres no surprise there. DJ's do just as much drugs as we do to be honest. Have you guys met any DJ's? I remember at the Major Lazer show Rusko announcing "Major Lazer is up next. We've been smoking mad PCP all day so its going to be a weird set". I understand some DJ's, such as Deadmau5 are anti-drugs but in all reality they ARE dj's making the music that WE take drugs to.... its no surprise they would want to partake in these drugs as well.

On another note, I don't go to shows on drugs anymore, the only exception being the show last week, and seeing all of these kids week after week looking like they're on the verge of death is really sad. I remember when I was doing that also, but I see the same kids somtimes, week after week, just destroying their bodies. There isn't enough harm reduction going around, and their never will be, but its great to have a community like this attempting to stop some of the madness.

I was there last night. I saw paramedics tackling people in order to get to the center of the crowd.

The fire alarm fucking went off right as skrillex started playing. I was relatively sober at this point. Eating a corndog and drinking water.

This may be a stretch of BL rules, but I'm going to say it, pretty sure almost everything at edc dallas was everything but mdma. The amount of pipes, speed, mcat, 2c-i was ungodly.

All of my friends of whom I was with were having a terrible time with all the random drugs in their system. I saw the way they were, and just called it a night for taking any more substances. Although I did ask for a few beers from some nice 21+ people :)

But there were ambulances patrolling EDC the whole day starting at about 6. 30 people hospitalized. 3 Dead.

Bluelight , Ecstasy Data, Pill Reports, and Erowid are the ultimate harm reduction tools. If youre not spreading the word of harm reduction, then you may lose someone to this nonsense. Spread the knowledge as if your life depended on it!

Oh, one of my promoter friends said 3. Guess it was a mistake?
I know for a fact 19 year old, male, from argyle.

As for harm reduction, probably Shulgin as cliche as it sounds.

Skrillex definitely feeds the chaos even though he speaks wisdom.

Yeah, 19 year old male.

I lol'd at this quote from an article I found.
"The fire marshal is here," said the announcement from a member of Skillrex, a band that had been performing for about 20 minutes. "I'm going to get arrested if I keep playing. I want everybody to be safe and calm and get out of the building."

Read more here.

Yes, Shulgin definately is the biggest figure in psycoactive research and harm reduction.

There seriously needs to be more acceptance and education. Accept the fact that people will do drugs regardless of what someone tells them. Allow organizations like dancesafe to conduct pill testing at events, provide free water points where people can cool down, etc. It's common sense really, don't scorn people educate them.
