For what its worth at this late point, i found benzo not helpful for sleep, even xanax and the max dosages and above, worked great for my anxiety and ptsd, but like alcahol in smaller doses i lost interest in sleep and would stay up later doing stuff.
What worked, zolpidem, like a champ, and entertains you on your way out as a bonus, but resulted in massive tolerance, recreational usage, dangerous sleep walk actions like driving, major fun but not good with alcahol, etc. The best way to fall asleep for sure.
I have settled on Seroquel, no tolerance, no addiction, no recreational value, meaning ill go to sleep, and the sedative part is hystamine based meaning drowsiness and a natural sleep, dont be fooled, it will knock you out, when all else fails, not to be compared to otc anti hystamines. Plus it has the added benefit of doubling as the best stim comedown killer ever
Plus, they just released the generics so its cheap now as well
Edit, I saw anxiety factors mentioned as well, i have to say seroquel is much valued in my anxiety, ptsd arsenal, its a great last resort, a gaurentee if you will to deal with any situation, even the worst panic attack or bad ptsd episode, nothing working, dont want to deal with it, seroquel will end your situation, not gracefully, but brutally, sleep gaurenteed, tested in the middle of the worst type of mental states. The piece of mind it provides a sufferer simply with the knowlege its there if needed, is worth it.
