Which drug is closest to a true psychotomimetic?

in my experience, zolpidem (combined with stimulants)
and once it happened to me on lsd too (combined with too much alcohol)

have seen a person go totally overboard on MDMA as well though (again, combined with alcohol)

I remember reading somewhere that Mescaline was used for years to mimic the brain chemistry of schizophrenia

The Doors of Perception, i think.

I would think a psychedelic like lsd or mescaline would mimic psychosis best.

based upon what? They produce effects that are drastically different. Ideas of Reference, delusional thinking, full-blown hallucinations. These aren't seen with psychedelics. Amphetamine produces effects that are indistinguishable.

Are those comparisions made by people that do not have schizophrenia themselves and compare their drug induces states to how the state of schizophrenia commonly is depicted? I must say that I have very little knowledge of the subject, and this may be a dumb question but are there people that have recovered from fully developed schizophernia and can describe the experience in a "normal"/understandable way?

yes i had a 3 month psychotic episode and thought people had chips in their brains that connec them to the radio , thought i saw the devil , people had these deformed devil smiles on their faces i saw peoples teeth falling out , every time a plane flew over its was an air raid etc. etc.


I have to say it really compared to a bad acid trip with the visuals being real only oev and also the experience is real , the devil is really out to get you there is like no way you can rationally think about stuff and even if you do it doesnt make any of it less real


oh and i dont know what the difference between being psychotic and schizophrenic is i think it its temporary its called a psychotic break

i was in this state for a about a month and it was brought on by an opioate and alcohol withdrawal.

I must say i heard voices saying negative stuff about me since i started smoking weed like 5 years ago
