Which came first for you?

music? wot' music?

nah, i'm on the music bandwagon too...
BUT - I'm feeling that the drugs are getting a bit of a cold shoulder in this post, so, for all the Class A's out there, I love you very much, and am looking forward with great anticipation to the next time we can see each other

I got into Electronic music when i was 12 years old (messiah! love the ol'skool!)...
skip the highschool years of speeding for study purposes...
went to my first rave at the age of 17...
got back into the chemicals at 18-19....
so i guess the music really did come first!

They both came at the same event for me.
And Id still rate them of equal importance.
The reason for this is that, while good music can make your nite rock, good drugs can do the same. Besides that, theres no way that I could dance for 7 or so hours straight withough a little chemical encouragement. I, too, am from a metal background.. and my first rave showed me how cool this music can be. It also showed me what good chemicals can do

OMG are you serious Tars?? Yet another similarity between us, i too started raving in 94 and didn't take my first pill till 97.

Being naturaly energetic, i could always party all night straight, still can, but the drugs just make it that extra special night.
Bring on Kryal, so i can get the best of both worlds!!!

Certainley the music, however, a more advanced appreciation was experienced by a few drug experiences. But, now that I've had my fun with the drugs they've been left behind. My body just reacts in the same way it would as if I was peaking or something these days.. body rushes off insane basslines... tunnel vision on the tweak of a 303... these days the drugs just fucks things up... but perhaps we will see with the extended break I intend to have.
Music me up. Music me up again.

We had two bags of grass, 75 pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half-full of cocaine and a whole galaxy of multicolored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers. Also, a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of Budweiser, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.

About the same time but not together... Started pilling with friends around the same time I started enjoying the clubs and music but used to club without drugs. Pills were for small social gatherings to start with. Joined the two together probably about 6 months after.
I now have a strong interest in the music and occassionally pill but the two do not go hand in hand all the time

born:1980
was bought up listening to dodgy synths being played in the new romantics wave of the early 80's and then the atari type sounding stuff of the mid to late 80s so i think it kind of stuck and I've always loved dancing so it was my destiny to jump into the dance music band wagon
when i turned 18 I would catch the taxi in with my friends go into their cheesy clubs for about 15 mins then ditch them and go to clubs where there wasn't just top 40 music playing by myself, ended up making heaps of friends that like dance music and never had to catch a taxi to a cheesy club ever again hehe.
But yeah had my first pill about 3 months after I got into the scene. I still do it straight though quiet often (though i have been quite naughty the last 3 months- shakes my head at myself)
so yeah the music definitely came first

The Music
The drugs just let me enjpy the music for longer.
I used to hate it when i went out with friend all were all popping and i wasnt, come 4am i was wrecked and they were all still going dancing around, i was jelous.
Now i can enjoy the music all night, all morning and all day.
I LUV THE MUSIC!!!!!!!!!

The Muzak. You know???? The type they play in elevators.
But really, I listened to trance before my first pill and I'm sure I'll still listen to it after my last.

Enjoy the silence...

drugs came first, but the more I've gone to events etc, the more the music takes over, the drugs become a secondary concern. Like when you come home and you realise you forgot to pop your second pill because the music was so good you didn't leave the dancefloor, I find everyone who I introduce to the scene is the same, the music becomes more and more important

For me the drugs came first, and opened me up to the music. Nowadays I'm more into the music. I'll see a show every weekend, but usually roll once a month.

id definately have to say the droogs,
well i guess it was the combinations of the two...
it all started when me and my buddies decided to do 'sumtjhing different for new years'...went to welcome2000, unfortunately the fuckin speedy-ass pill we had wore off sumwhere between southbank and the docks....o well....still had heaps of energy to rock at welcome for like the whole and go to summerdaze afterwards (which i regretted cos i was comming down like a muthafucka)...
wasnt until TT 2000 that i had my first 'e'xperience///and OMG...things were never the same after that...that was when i truly developed an appreciation for both drugs and the music..
but nowaday i just listen to the music more cos.....well just cos alrite....

Music. In fact first rave was I think Every Picture 9.
First pill, Early last year.

The drugs.
If it wasn't for the drugs, i would never have started to enjoy the music.

What goes around comes around.
Work like you don't need the money.
Love like you've never been hurt.
Dance like nobody's watching.

Started listening to trance & hardcore around '95.
My first party was Free Love '98 @ Minto Basketball Stadium, and that was also the first time I'd taken chems (speed, for those who aren't disinterested).
I can live without drugs (in fact I've cut down my pill consumption quite drastically in the last 4 or 5 months...goddamn expensive turntables!), but there's no way I could live without music.

MUSIK is a natural high!!
I've been a music freak since I was born. So unless I was poppin' in the womb, I'd have to say the music came first for me!
