Where do You feel most at Peace?

sitting out the back of the waves on a cool spring day, surfing in general, total peace.
also riding my push bike, gets me to a nice place, just bought a Harley to hopefully step that up.

an apartment, i went half into with my brother, I feel very content there, NO bad memories, basically nothing bad, only positive things have happened in this place, so just nothing negative for me to associate with, im definetly at peace there.

Lovely thread.
I feel most at peace ...

* Lying on my soft comfy bed [with about 3 comforters piled up one on top of the other with all my pillows surrounding me], eating my favorite comfort food, and catching up on bad TV shows. Heaven.

* Hearing mass at this particular church that is 15 minutes away from my house....nice , quaint and simple church with simple folk, a choir that sings beautifully and a priest who sings prayers with the most extraordinary voice. I love it so much there.

* My room!!! I love puttering around in my room. :)

There are only a few places/situations I feel comfortable/at peace

* relaxing on my chair watching Deadliest catch

* Laying in bed with my cat sleeping on me

* being anywhere with a high level of Opiates in my brain

I love it when my cats lay on me! Def a peaceful feeling. Also at the beach, reading or listening to music in the sun, or in the morning, having coffee and just surfing the net in a quiet house (all even better with a nice opiate high).

It always seems like people feel the most peace at home. I love being at home, but then, my house is also full of family and paperwork and always needs cleaning. I can't find major PEACE peace at my house. I have to go to the spa, alone, to really rest from everything. It helps if I have some weed to smoke on the way out there.

- My cabin, overlooking my provinces great lake(s). my hand and feet on rocks serenity to the water.

- Crowded Music festivals, I feel invincible when I'm surrounded by people being odd even though I may be energetic, I feel a peace that restores all reserves of vitality.

- From the inside of my mind anywhere at anytime... I can tap into the other and accept that this chase for "somewhere else" is really just a battle in my mind.

- having a long warm shower

-having a bath

-inside a tent made of sheets (like the one in The Royal Tenebaums)

-smoking a ciggarette on a nice day after i havent smoked for a while so im totally zoned out

Do you have a spot in your house that is exclusively yours? Your own room for example. Decluttering works wonders for getting rid of "stale" or negative energy that can bog you down. And if that seems too daunting, try decluttering one small part of your room once a day. :)

Sometimes a quick dust and wiping my shelves or bookcases and putting things back in their proper place is enough to make me feel better.

thank you. that sounds like great advice.

oh decluttering is brilliant. move forwards, not backwards!

a few months back i threw away all the space and consciousness consuming dvd cases for my (pretty big) collection. i keep the discs now in those nice metal drawers full of sleeves.

i used to live next to an abandoned farm and i loved to go and explore the old barns and go inside and have a cigarette. it was especially soothing if there was heavy rain making that noise on the roof. ahhhhhh wish i could go back.

i feel most at peace when

im sitting alone, listening to music, smoking a blunt and going into deep thought
its almost like meditation for me, its what keeps me sane in this fucked up thing called life

Superb responses! At first i thought perhaps this thread was beter suited elsewhere but the healthy living bluelighters seem like a great bunch!

*When you'e the only one left awake to listen to the rain outside at night, aaahhhhhhh.

-Watching a game on tv with <3 and probably some weed
-At night when we go out for a cigarette, looking at the stars
-At work when I first get there and make my tea, while I'm waiting for the computer to boot up. It's just quiet and I'm waking up but still relaxed and generally in a good mood.

yeahhhhh and the early mornings when everyone is still asleep or walking around outside on the streets during a snowstorm when no one is around. Love it

being surrounded by trees and not being able to hear cars or people
