What's your Town Famous for?

i don't think pymble is famous for anything.
apart from selling passion pop at the most expensive rate i've ever come across. i.e. $6.95
 
Well, the life saving club at the end of my street and the pier appeared in that ABC show "seachange"

The same beach has ben in so many different shows... and it's also briefly seen in the water safety ad - you know the one where they're like "brain's watching terry" and "graham is watching bruce" ... that one.

Otherwise, we have a giant clock.
 
A couple of mafia hits have happened recently (last year) in one of our neighbourhood pubs.

how could I forget about Boonie? Also Ricky Ponting is from Mowbray I think, which is a subrub in Launceston....I guess cricket must be big in Tassie eh?

I've actually met him a few times, had several beers with him. I went out with this chick that lived across the road from him and she used to baby sit his kids all the time.

We are the Fruit Salad City .... LOL. I never had a hope coming from Mooroopna (near Shepparton, Goulburn Valley Victoria.. home of fruit orchards and canneries)

Even the town's name means "Big water hole" in Aboriginal. Yep, we were a bunch of fruit cups living in a big hole. =D
 
I was born in a little country town near the snowy mountains.... so i guess my town is famous for "The Man From Snowy River"

EDIT: Oh I forgot... My parents then bought a farm near Violet Town which is famous for the band Killing Heidi
 
Horsham - - - Well I don't think were famous for anyting.I think we were Australia's tidiest town 2 years running... that's aboutit though.

Otherwise, our town is going to be famous for 'One Perfect Fest' a big ass festival thats going to be held every year. This year we've got Spiderbait, Killing Heidi pulled out :X and like a big line up of Melb DJ's. Which really isn't bad for a little town with a population of 18, 000 people.

current place of residence-
Pattaya, Thailand...........famous for..... HOOKERS! Lots and lots of them, and lots of old sex tourists. There's a also a music festival here every year which sucks.
 
A Country Practice was filmed there.

Home and Away is sometimes still filmed there [every time there's a death or marriage they congregate in the church on my street] and Gypsy and Will once had a fight in front of my house. Good times.

It was first settled in 1810 so it's got some old shit.

Ah! Den Haag, also home of international schools' Model United Nations competitions!!! Loved those in the 80's!
