Benzos What's your benzo dose for anxiety management?

Its 200 mcg sorry type O... you get euphoric with 5mg because you’re not tolerant to the drug I have been taken Benzos for almost 4 yrs now all the above I posted are taken daily some times more as the effect can be almost zero on my sever acute thoracic and lower back pain the Diaz is for Spasm and Temaz, the Loraz was prescribed recently for Sleep but has now stopped working on the specified dosage, even the Morphine I'm now taking 40mg 4 or 5 x a day now is becoming very much none affective. I know I have a serious problem and I want to reduce these drugs though the Pain has to be taken away somehow I think many people have no Idea the Pain I suffer and the levels that can make me physically sick and I have passed out in the past from the pain from nerve and spasm in my back. The sleepers are hard to dump as even if I am up 36 hrs straight I can still find it difficult to sleep my head nods and bobs backup again not until I'm almost 48hrs + can I sleep and then only for perhaps 2 hrs max. I find Cannabis when I can get it or marijuana seems to give me a good sleep and also depending what type can effectively relieve my back spasm if I smoke enough. I am considering asking my GP about the Spray as my wife is a nurse and am aware that some patients at her home are using this for certain conditions mostly muscular type spasms... (I need help!)

^That's dumb

Klonopin 6-8mg's ( Doesn't work to well for me, I also get paradoxial effects from it)
Alprazolam (2mg's-4mg's)
Valium (20mg's) I cant figure out why I barely need any valium, I guess it just works good for me.

I'm scripted 20mg diazepam daily currently.

I was just taking it as one dose in the evening actually to help with anxiety-related insomnia. But just recently I've changed my dosing to 5mg in the morning and 15mg in the evening.

I'm now on 2x 2mg clonazepam daily, which I prefer to the valium. Clonazepam I find to feel subtle, but with actually very strong anxiolytic and muscle relaxant properties. Not very sedating compared to other benzos though, which may explain its subtlety. But for the therapeutic relief of anxiety it's probably the best benzo I've tried.

That's interesting, I used to take 5mg's a day, and also got good muscle relaxent effects from it. It always worked on my anxiety, and helped me get a good sleep. But there's somthing that valium has that klonopin doesn't. Maybe it's the fact that klonopin allows to to have so much energy, I think the "subtlety" can lead to the drugs down fall for klonopin. It's not even a tolerance, eventually the effects just get paradoxial, I guess they do with all benzo's but they really do with klonopin.

It's weird though because I still think it's a good benzo when it works, you just dont want to get the paradoxial effects, because that kills it.

All benzos have the potential like you say for those paradoxical effects if abused/used daily... rebound anxiety, tolerance, w/ds etc etc. You may prefer Valium because of its longer half-life and/or the fact it has temazepam and oxazepam as metabolites. Personally I find Valium too weak for my needs, but that's me.

Different brain chemistries, different reasons for using benzos etc etc all make the Drug 'X' vs Drug 'Y' talk pointless really.

1 mg of clonazepam has always been my gold standard for treating a wide range of symptoms for me: anxiety, insomnia, restless legs syndrome, chronic pain.

Diazepam (and don't get me wrong, I love me some Valium on occasion) has an almost anticholinergic-like touch to it. 20 mg zones me out completely, makes me really thirsty, makes me feel weak and lasts for up to 48 hours.

Other benzos I've tried are Serax (oxazepam), Librium (chlordiazepoxide), Xanax, and Ativan. For "breakthrough" anxiety (not panic attacks), .5 - 1 mg of Xanax or 1 - 1.5 mg of Ativan. I can't remember what the dosage was on the oxazepam, but I remember it being fairly weak. The Librium worked well and seemed to have a perfect duration of action--not nearly as long as clonazepam and diazepam, but smooth and long acting (unsure of the mg dose).

Well I found valium to be weak, but it worked great for tapering and quiting. So I prefered it for quiting, sense I could never quit klonopin.

Klonopins a much better benzo when it comes to sleep and the relaxation is more prominent, I never fell asleep or nodded out on valiums like I did on klonopin.

How do you find twice dailey dosing working for you? Do the effects last you through out the whole day?

20mg Diazepam daily pescribed by my physc doctor 30mg seems to help more

(100mg seroquel and 90mg Cymbalta)

My therapeutic daily dose of benzos consists of 3mg Xanax XR for severe panic attacks. It also helps with my benign non-essential tremors. I also take 0.25mg or 0.5mg of regular Xanax as needed for really severe panic attacks and...well, 'recreation' ;)

Yeah, I've always used Valium when tapering, I agree it's the best benzo for that. I've used Valium more than any other benzo. I need too much though for it to be viable as a daily anxiety management drug. I'd rather take 'two', 2mg clonazepam a day than 'eight' to 'twelve', 5mg diazepam tablets each day (we don't get 10mg diazepams in Aus).

I find the twice daily dosing of the 2mg clonaz to be working ok at removing some (not all) of my anxiety. Keeping withdrawals at bay (those lingering subtle inner-tension type w/ds that just never seem to end after the acute w/d stage is over).

I've got to grit my teeth and get benzos out of my life all together eventually, probably soon as it's exacerbating an increasing drinking problem :\

alprazolam 4mg

no other benzos really have an effect on me

xanax has really helped me alot , at first it knocked me about abit but now it doesnt zonk me out , just takes away my worries n makes me more sociable

Is anyone else on a health kick / weight loss mission but also taking benzos? I take 10mg Valium in the morning and my concern is that it slows my metabolism to a crawl. I've been exercising consistently and fairly intensely but am worried the weight won't come off until I get my metabolism going.

I'd prefer not to fuck around with any stimulants (even caffeine) as this just increases my anxiety.

Any ideas?

I am so thankful to be off benzos. I realize some people need them but I think perhaps they work better for others than they did for me. With no tolerance, 2mg of Alprazolam or Lorazepam or 3mg of Clonazepam will have me in a stupor. However, the VERY NEXT DAY I can take the same dose and feel virtually nothing. Does this happen to anyone else? People complain about amphetamine tolerance buildup but I've been on 40mg of Vyvanse for months and it still controls my ADHD symptoms. I was on benzos for five years and all my daily dose managed to do was keep me out of withdrawal. My anxiety issues were ten times worse after I'd been on benzos for awhile. When I got off I had seizure, muscle spasms, paranoia, delusions, aggression, insomnia... basically there was a giant benzo shaped hole in my brain for a good month. Eck....

Mrflowers00, that is quite a tolerance. I am currently taking Xanax everyday to manage some anxiety, 0.5 mg each and every morning and then more as needed through the day. At least 0.5 mg each and every night, and now most of the time 1 mg. I have varied feelings about it, it kills the anxiety, but is too short-acting to be the only benzo I have especially if I am on benzos daily. I'd rather get back on Klonopin, and have Xanax to take as needed. I don't need something more than Xanax, but would like it. I wake up feeling anxious, and just not settled until my Xanax kicks in. With the Klonopin, I woke up feeling nice and calm. I was taking 0.5 mg TID Klonopin, but I have mixed feelings about Klonopin, too. I wouldn't want only Klonopin to work with because of its lack of "packing a punch" like Xanax, and because of certain experiences I had where there might have been some slight paradoxical effects when I dosed higher than what was indicated. I don't think they were even paradoxical effects so much as, well I don't know. Even in high doses I enjoyed my Klonopin. In the ideal situation I'd be on both, and Xanax only as needed.

2mg clonazepam daily, prescribed-1mg at a time. For me, 1.5mg seems best for managing anxiety. Night time anxiety I tend to treat w/ my prescribed 15mg temaz-1-1/2 capsules works GREAT!
Past prescription treatments-1mg alpraz for panic attacks.
1mg loraz for attacks/general anxiety.
