Hand of Doom- Black Sabbath
Cold Turkey- John Lennon
Pennyroyal tea- Nirvana. (while there no direct referance)

I was just going to say this myself. I love ATF, but White Pony was def. my fav. album by them when i was off in methadone-induced euphoria land .. rx queen / change / knife party are great, as is the rest of the album.

I really, really, really like Minerva by The Deftones. The song is not about heroin, but you could read the lyrics as though it were. Also, the music of the song feels just like dope smacking ya down to your bed.


Has anyone heard of Phil Anselmo of Pantera's side project Down? They do a few good songs about drugs such as weed, heroin, and acid. I cant remember the song name but like the 7th or 8th track (actually all of them together are great downer songs, hence the name) on their CD "Nola" is all about smack.

Also the band Acid Bath does a few good songs about dope, sadly i cant recall the names and dont feel like digging through a pile of 400 cds to find it.

omg dude knife party is def one of my all time fav songs to listen to with my eyes closed drifting off to a dreamy dope land.

digital bath, from the same album, is awesome too. The one that goes " I feeeeeel like moooooooooooooooooooooooooore..."

I seriously cant listen to white pony while im sober, all it will do is make me wanna get fucked up.
 
I forgot to add: Fifteen - My Congressman. Not only is it about IV drug use, it's harm reduction oriented. They're also one of the few pop punk bands out there with socially relevant lyrics...

No idea if the band is still together, but I do know their (former?) frontman Jeff Ott is touring right now and is playing a show here in early January. I'll probably check it out.

I'm sorry dude but your information is wrong, I know for a fact that he has used MANY hardcore drugs, not just marijuana. I want to know where the hell you heard that wacky information. Did Billy Joe Bob tell you this or something? My friend was a rodey for their tour following the release of Around the Fur and having back stage passes I was kindly invited. There was a fucking table loaded with assorted drugs. Obviouslly taking a picture of Chino using drugs was out of the question but I have many pictures from this event.
 
chino did not do heroin, end of story. heroin was never a drug that the deftones abused. i've been a fan of them for quite a while and have followed up on information.. who's to say you aren't just making up the story about a roadie or w/e?

No wait, he's a Chino stalker, he watches from afar every minute of his life, that's how he knows he hasn't ever used other drugs. He also knows about his daily 8 o'clock shower 8(

No, they've split up. Jeff's bands don't last long (well, Fifteen did last sorta long).

Crimpshrine is probably the greatest band no one's ever heard of.

Nirvana has quiet a few good songs about heroin that I enjoy thoughly
