Whats you faveroite song about Heroin?

malachi305z: then why name the album 'White Pony'? Last I heard, white pony was west coast slang for a drug other than weed.

Remember STP? The Stone's (lol) have some tolerable music when I'm nodding hard but can't get into it sober. Nothing against them, they just got annoying after awhile (5 or so years ago). I'm sure that plenty of their lyrics had been inspired from that furl 'sidering frontman Scott Weiland visits rehab like trips to the restroom for shots of P-dope
 
Except white pony is some pretty far back slang for cocaine, not heroin.

The original is done by Velvet Underground just to let you know bird.

As for for white opny slang for heroin, heroin is often (more-so in the 70's) refered to as Horse. White horse/pony - white heroin.

One of my old lawyers used to refer to it as Horse at I didnt get what he was talking about.

"So your back on the Horse again" - him
"Uh, what...?" - me

btw: Nirvana didn't necessarily have whole songs dedicated to smack, since Kurts songs were usually abstract and about a lot of different things, but he definitely threw some lines in there:

"I forget just why I taste, oh yeah I guess it makes me smile" --Smells Like Teen Spirit

"I'm on warm milk and laxatives, cherry flavored Antacids" -- Pennyroyal Tea

"In the Sun I feel as one" -- All Apologies -- I might be going out on a limb here, but I think a few Seattle musicians referred to smack as 'The Sun'. Makes sense to me.. it's the bringer of life.

Fifteen has not toured in a number of years. I am suprised that Jeff is still touring. The last time I saw him was when he did the spoken word tour. Fifteen is one of my all time favourite punk bands. Where are you that he is going to be playing in January?

i looked on the internet and found white pony referenced to heroin, cocaine, and in a few places, meth

isn't it more helpful if slang refers to one drug? :)

Gaz_hmmmm: I really think Maynard is refering to Marx's 'Religion is the opiate of the masses' with this song. I don't think you can interpret any of those lyrics as drug related. Maynard is a pretty intelligent guy, and I doubt that he'd claim that an inanimate object such as smack could want 'to rape you'. Good song nonetheless.
