pisses me off to read how frequent and to what extent this happens.
if people bore easily stop reading this post here.
just so happens i tooexperienced a stupid random act of aggression, which could have led to violence just tonight(saturday). although nowhere near the extent to which others in this post have experienced.
first mistake was going to the local pub/rsl instead of going out to a place where the PLUR is strong, but its uni time now and im tryin to save a lil $$$ for the easter break and save my brain.
anyway to make a reasonably short story into a longer one- we were on the rsl bus home. Most of the travellers were quite intoxicated young and older people, by old i mean senior citizens. my drunk friend, whom was just talking your normal semi-loud drunken nonsense i.e; crazy money making schemes, doing a remix of the monkey magic theme etc. but certainly nothing threatening. He required some additional air as it seemed to be getting quite humid at the back of the bus so he asked if id open the window, which i did as i was sitting right next to one. As i did this the driver of the bus then asked if i was ok (assuming i had alot to drink and feeling sick. which i hadnt or did). I explained my mate behind just needed some fresh air. And with that some morons up the front, whom i didnt know just go "dont worry they suffer from dickhead syndrome" (the same syndrome i associote with people that start fights for no reason, roll people, think for too highly of the themselves and much less of anyone else). Taken aback by this another drunken friend then reconfirms what moron up the front says and moron replies "Yeh i did call you dickheads, you probably are. You guys look like faggots too, i dont like faggots.(we arent gay and werent doing anything to suggest we were) We'll see who the bigger man is at the next stop (implying we get out to fight with him. his friend had already got out)" he then proceeded to 'stare' us out. (this is guy is outnumbered 4 to 1).
Startled by this we started laughing assuming he was joking as it was on an rsl bus and infront of members of a much older generation. turns out we was serious as he followed up with more mindless insults when we play dumb and pay this guy out in a subtle manner, just to g him up a bit. anyway we get to his stop, he steps up the anger and demands we get off the bus with him so we fight with him on the side of a busy road. why he would do this is far above and beyond me. anyway we stayed on the bus, told the guy he was a fuckin loser and questioned him as to why we would fight him over his stupid insecurities. and nothing happened.
anyway in cases where people display random acts of aggression and the neanderthal 'survival of the fittest' attitudes id put alot of it down to upbringing at home, their social upbringing; exposure to the world outside of which they have been bought up, social controls etc, the general mentality of the aggressor and whether or not the school they went to was co-ed or not (just seems in MY experience more aggression comes from people who have gone to soley single sex schools to other individuals). or whether or not there has been a stronger femenine influence in their lives. too much testosterone.
apologies to those who went to single sex schools who arent like this at all.
my longest ever post. shoulda gone to twotribes
