🌟🌟 Social 🌟🌟 What's the last film you saw? v. Why doesn’t Peter Jackson wear shoes?

Stylistically it reminded me of Fifth Element in parts.
I can see that too. Either way it was an odd film. The ending honestly took me by surprise, I kinda expected a sad ending. Perhaps it hit a little too close to home with the current culture we live in and such.

Some reviews said Ruffalo's character was too on the nose , but I felt it was meant to be a bit absurdist. Especially his wife and the whole sauces thing.

The Devil Incarnate (2014)

Didn’t really enjoy this, story was a bit all over the place. Thought the trailer was decent though.

i watched extraction ii

it was very entertaining - just as entertaining as the first one. pretty mindless fun which is just the ticket sometimes :)

Rewatched Blossi 810551. It's the second time i have watched it since i have gotten the movie and the 3rd time ive watched it in total. I figured some hard drugs like morphine would go well with this move and it did. Even though it's speed that they use in the movie.

Shoutout again to the Bler that helped me get this movie.

Out of Africa (1985)

Usually when I see that a film swept up 7 or more Oscars I assume it's crap. The English Patient created that assumption for me, what a God awful Oscar-bait shit-show that one was... anyhow.

Anyhow, sometimes the Oscars get things right. I fucking love Out of Africa. I have watched it many times, own it on blu-ray, and hope to spend too much on a 4k UHD transfer someday.

I watched it again last week. Truly a remarkable film that would never, ever be made again if it hadn't already happened.

8.5/10

Currently watching Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within.

It is a decidedly average sci-fi movie which I've always had a soft spot for owing to my love for the videogame series.

The CGI is still very impressive, though it does flirt with the uncanny valley in some ways particularly facial animations. This film came out 24 years ago.

At the time it was the most expensive animated movie ever made (probably still is), and indeed it was responsible for bankrupting the studio that produced it. It never came close to recouping it's production budget and Spirits Within ended up being Square Pictures' first and last feature film.

Stupid but Don't Be Afraid of the Dark 2010 with some Hollywood bang for your buck in it lol seemed like a simple enough movie in an old creepy house but man did I fall all the way down into the vicious ending lol also maybe more recently Heretic with my friend (I guess I feel inept as a boyfriend but am supposed to be one, anyways getting way off track..) in our living room first time we watched something together in a while she liked the dialgoue but dude those little things that broke Katie's leg before ripping her down an old furnace cavern was brutal and I regretted watching but the horror was cartoony yet somehow had me on edge very uncommon viewing experience I was super intoxicated probably tripping on a mean tryptmamine bender out of countless random titles this one hooked me in haha

Uncommon because I don't like the genre would not have planned on that but I guess it is like Guillermo style horror had my imagination hooked like a child and abused it ultimately I felt violated after it left a stronger imprint unfortunately than other recent watchings I have since forgotten super stoned

Watchers (1988)

Totally forgot about this one and didn’t realise there was three sequels. Typical 80’s flick starring Corey Haim but with a ‘test’ dog that is super smart and tries to protect his family from an assassin type character.

CAM (2022)

Decent enough found footage horror I came across on Found TV (found footage horror/sci-fi streaming service). Involves a tactical team who go into a contagious plant with a TV crew.
