🌟🌟 Social 🌟🌟 What's the last film you saw? v. Why doesn’t Peter Jackson wear shoes?

and the sequel -

The first was better and more realistic, but had just the right amount of comedy and killer action scenes. The second was actually almost as good, but was even more absurdist, but it was funnier.

The plots were fairly easy to predict if you have half a brain for fore-shadowing and typical action movie tropes. The martial arts and fight choreography were actually super dope and I thought it was hilarious. As you can see from the trailers, it point blank is making fun of movies like the Bourne Identity series, John Wick series, the Equalizer series, the Transporter series, the Mechanic series etc. There's a direct 4th wall acknowledgment of it in the first trailer.

Rotten tomatoes gave both 83% and 80% fresh ratings respectively and I think that's spot on. I was pleasantly surprised and impressed.

My favorite character is definitely the Cantonese lady in the sequel. She has serious martial arts chops and can act too. She had me in stitches.

8.8/10 for the first film and 8.5/10 for the latter.

Smoke a blunt and give em a watch!

Abigail (2024)

Love this! So much fun.

Super fun. Just finished it. I don't want to spoil it for others, but there's definitely some vampire lore I didn't know. I'm a fan of the Blade trilogy, Underworld series etc and this was really fun. Gorey as fuck but I thought it was great. That little woman has got serious ballet and acting chops. I guessed a lot of what was going to happen and was pleasantly surprised to be wrong a couple times. I was spot on re who "made it" in the end.

8.2/10

I watched it at home, but this is probably what would have happened to me if I caught the flick at the pictures, muttering away to myself about how it's going to play out haha:

During Friday morning I've rewatch a movie from my childhood named "Spirit away" from studio Ghibli to calm my anxiety and crying. The movie was made for children, but watching as an adult gave me some insights and more connection with the characters, despite my old age.

Twilight Zone: The Movie (1983(

Really enjoyed this! Surprised I haven’t seen this before but the amount of films I get through it’s no wonder lol. Dan Akroyd is good as always and the 4 tales are all quite good.

Still hilarious and classic. Was actually a pretty novel idea for a parody of various films at the time.

I totally forgot this movie even existed, probably haven't watched it since I was like 12 y/o. So 20+ years ago.

It firmly falls into the "It's so bad, it's good" category. It is definitely a fun romp and completely absurd. It's no Citizen Kane, but super fun to just veg out to. Cool fight choreography and lots of little wink-wink nod-nods to Dennis Rodman's basketball career.

6.5/10 for me because it's hilarious (rotten tomatoes gave it an audience score of 2.5/10, which is a bit too low imo, especially in retrospect).

Love lies bleeding,I love A24 productions,it was good ,one part was completely stupid and blew it for me,but over all I thought it was a decent watch.

Apparently a series but unsure.

Really well shot & story line was potentially, good but falls short, logically. Perhaps why it is possibly, a series...concept seems hijacked from "the last of us"

Kind of a pseudo-intellectual flick, but it was fun to watch. I don't think Justin Timberlake was terrible as an actor though (just kinda average). Another entertaining film if you're bored or stoned.

6.6/10

Lost Command (1966)

Pretty entertaining war flick covering the collapse of French rule in Indochina at Dien Bien Phu, followed by the fighting that was going on at the time in Algeria.

I wana grab a bluray copy but they only made them in France so I'm glad I have a region-free player.
