Baby Ruby (2022)

Fascinating yet so anxiety inducing - psychological horror dealing with the mental stresses of bringing up a child and how postpartum plays into it for the mother.

Lifter. same ol cops, robbers, cops working with robbers and then the confrontation between good and bad guy. The bad guy will apprehend the good guys for a while and ask "where is the jewel?" Eh....

Got 8 movies at Walmart.
Paid $5.30 for the first 3 Police Academy movies.
Haven't seem them in long time, but good cheap Saturday entertainment.
Oddly enough the first 3 are the only good ones.
Strangely enough the first is rated R,
The second pg-13, and the third and the best ( imo) is rated PG.
Good movies, but where did all those decades go?

American Murder: Laci Peterson (2024)

Quite interesting documentary on the murder of Laci Peterson, in three parts but yeah very sad for the family as well.

I can't imagine ever killing someone.
But this sociopath( not an excuse as far as I am concerned.) Killed his college sweetheart who he married and was pregnant with their child. Sick, evil bastard.

However Lacy, I thought had a multimillion dollar inherentence once she turned 30.

He has no conscious, so why not wait till she has her Inheritance? I guess she was in the way of his affair. Maybe he didn't want kids. Then why date a single mother?

When I first saw him, he just looked like a clean cut boring regular guy. Nope, cold blooded killer.

I watched:

Good Time (2017) - propulsive and stressful but brilliant and rewarding. Soundtrack is dope and the acting/makeup is fantastic. They do a great job of making The Bronx a character in the film.

The Bing Ring 2013? - Same artist for the soundtrack (Oneohtrixpoint never) - nails the vibe of the early online millennial experience with the added intrigue of getting to ride along with youth making foolish and doomed to fail choices whine having a lot of fun on the way. Some amazing one liners and ridiculous scenes (Emma Watson just casually smoking heroin without it really being a plot point, though being absolutely true to her character IRL)

Jeeeeez, just watched The Union. Did film makers run out of ideas when it comes to action movies? They are all the same. Lifer, The Union, I am finding these insulting to viewers. Again, punch line: "WHERE IS THE JEWEL!" Same crap. It should have ended with Indiana Jones or Beverly Hills Cop.

I will say although boring I did like the punch line on Leave The World Behind. Very clever and appropriate for our time.

Rewatching Altered States. Considering i did ketamine today
I love that movie, although somewhat annoyed they got the name of the mushroom wrong. Unless they really did want us to think they were Amanitas. I did see it in the movie theaters right when it came out.

My last movie is one I'd never heard of before and I bet most of you haven't either, despite it having a familiar/famous lead actor...

"Broken Vows" with Tommy Lee Jones. A 1987 movie
