Film What's the Last Film You Saw? v. Tell Us What You Thought!

The Addams Family

hadn't seen it since i existed in the single digits, so i'm counting this as the first viewing. disappointing. i was expecting some burton-esque classic. it isn't. an hour and a half of going for cheap laughs on the rails of a bland plot. neither anjelica huston nor christina ricci save it. though wednesday addams is the highlight. the crazy mother acting like the doctor reminded me of peter sellers acting like the school psych in Lolita.

Do you remember what you didn't like? Do you know which version you saw? I feel like I wouldn't have liked it as much if I saw the slightly shorter US version as they would have cut out a lot of key scenes showing the character development of Natalie Portman and Jean Reno.
it was a long time ago. i remember thinking it was unintentionally silly. the paintball assassination was the last straw. i do not remember which version i saw, and, at however young i was, i'm sure there is a lot i didn't pick up on or give focus to. i had a narrower and simpler idea of what made a film good.

Black Moon

doesn't make any sense and doesn't do anything cool in lieu. last frame sums up louis malle's contribution to film.

The Devil Inside - I typically don't like films that are pretending to be "filmed," so to speak, but I actually really liked this one. Although felt that the ending could have cleared up a lot more than it did...

I totally agree. Very sad film and always makes me cry. It's the type of film you watch when you want to look into yourself. Deffo not a date/kiddie movie..very sad.

Agreed. I cried after that film and I'm not afraid to admit it.

Movie you may have forgotton about - 'Usual Suspects' - Hands up??

Nice catch, can't believe that one was overlooked!

Yep, have seen it. Was present for my bro but kept waiting for the action to start? I liked it but everyone has there own taste so there you go. I got the deep and meaniful looks from my brother. was expecting 'Conan' which I didn't deliver at that moment...!!!

LOL

oh man, I totally know what you mean.

had a shinya tsukamoto triple-feature with a snake of june, tetsuo: the iron man and vital. all three films are absolutely stunning, and just what my beer-saturated, withdrawing mind needed.

^ Kat80, not to be rude, but this thread is for the most recent film(s) you watched, not any you have ever saw...

Last watched Catch Me If You Can. Have seen it before, but a second viewing was needed... and it was on one of the HD channels I was trying out for the first time, lol. Good movie, though I wish I had stayed awake through the ending during the second viewing. Not the film's fault that it ended at nearly 2a. :P

i don't really have any words.

The Watch, with Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, and Jonah Hill. It really is hilarious, but the endless stream of homoerotic dick jokes wear out their welcome, while Vaughn and Hill totally upstage Stiller, which is an atrocity. Still, I'd give it a very solid three-and-a-half stars.

Mac & Devin Go to High School

A comedy that follows two high school students -- one overachiever struggling to write his valedictorian speech, the other a senior now going on his 15th year of school.

Stars: Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa, Mike Epps and Andy Milonakis...

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1870425/

Pretty average, but i didnt mind it too much. Fans of Snoop Doggs will get into it I'd imagine.

2.5/5

Rosemary's Baby

Don't know why it has taken me this long to see this movie. Glad I did though. More creepy than scary IMO. I liked how the film didn't actually show the baby letting the audience imagine how monstrous it is. And my oh my Mia Farrow was adorable back in the day. I liked her in the first half better with the long hair. 4/5

british melange out of gangster movie and family drama. sounded really off-putting when i read the synopsis, but it was told really low-key and was very realistic, had a great cast and was altogether one of the best movies i've seen in the recent months. 9/10

Me either. My passion against hotlinking runs deep.

fucking hell, i didn't see this come up as a graphic last time. well, i am too lazy to upload pics and i hate summarizing films. i am not too concise or articulate about it. that was Lilja 4 Ever, and i saw it slightly high and it was very traumatic. maybe the most disturbing film for me personally.

a very good film seen recently: paris, texas

Ghost Dog

watched with friends. it was entertaining. the story is a prickly combination of pulp cinema and pushing some moral. it's about people killing and allowing themselves to be killed for absurd, thinly developed reasons. if the plot of a movie is so silly, it can't come off as trying so hard to be significant beyond in its own medium.

the game it plays with dialogue and subtitles is awesome. cracked me up every time. never got old.

i saw "Ted" at the movies and it was hilarious. id go watch it again if it wouldnt cost me 10 bucks. ill prob rent it from the redbox
