What's the deal with benzos and opiates mixed together? Example of a situation

no i say man all the time, to females too, i just use it as an expression, not literally haha

atm i'm in sweden, education and family, but i'm moving to good ol' england soon haha
just gotta wait for my best friend to find a flat and then i'm outtie, headed straight to england

i never thought i'd make it 'till 18, but here i am, 18 years old lol
i was reaaal suicidal, then i just switched from suicidal to not suicidal like that, like i just snapped out of it, it was real weird
Starting to get those suicidal thoughts again but i try to occupy my mind as much as i possibly can so i don't have time thinking about it
i'm putting all the depressing shit aside for now, i ain't going down that road again, fuck that

suicidal thoughts? been there..done that..no t-shirt though....

growing up is hard to do..but the lessons make it worth it.
You'll get where you need to be..just maybe not the path you initially intended on.
Count on you..and you'll be fine.

6) What counts as a CNS-depressant? I know it's Central Nervous System, but what types of medications would count as a CNS-depressant? Any sedatives/hypnotics?

1.) There's a high chance that breathing difficulties may become an issue here or even possibly even stop breathing, espeically with the amounts of potent hypnotic benzos like triazolam and nitrazepam and not to mention the rest (100 mg zolpidem, 10-20 mg clonazepam, 150 mg diazepam, 150 mg codeine, 100 mg promethazine, and 200-250 mg tramadol).
2.) Depending on the antihistamine, yes. For example, diphenhydramine potentiates codeine.
3.) Because 2 CNS depressants mix and synargize to make each other stronger.
4.) Some antihistamines can be considered CNS depresssants in that they produce marked sedation (but not serious breathing issues), for example diphenhydramine or promethazine
5.) There is no list, they all cause dose-dependent respiratory depression. Morphine, methadone, and fentanyl seem to have a much stronger effect on respiration at equanalgesic doses, however.
6.) Opiates, alcohol, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, methaqualone, some muscle relaxants, and other drugs are CNS depressants.

How would you rate mirtazapine as a CNS depressant? I've always skipped taking my dose the nights that I do opiates/benzos because of how sedating it can be.
 
LAY OFF THE BENZOS

That amount of medication is frankly ridiculous and stupid. There is no reason why you can't even with a high tolerance get yourself onto 1-2 benzos that each have the desirable effects you need.

Obviously we are talking about you. If 99% of the population were to take this, yes they would end up dead.
 
I take benzos and opiates daily... High doses of opiates and usually theraputic doses of benzos... Sometimes when I run out of my Soma I take more Valium for the muscle relaxing effects... and sometimes Klonopin it all depends. However, mixing opiates and benzos is dangerous to non tolerant people and even tolerant... but I dont take tramadol I use Oxymorphone and Oxycodone usually... sometimes Heroin and sometimes Suboxone and rarely Methadone... I have panic disorder and a serious pain condition though. However I never reccomend that anyone mix benzos and opiates because you never really know what can happen. Being that this is a harm reduction site it's best to err on the side of caution.

Tramadol causes me to have serious shallow breathing side effects. It's in my medical records that I am allergic and cannot take that medication. I wouldn't mix them even though tramadol is weak as fuck. That's just me. I have been fine on a fistful of valium, klonopin and Opana... but I doubt I would be fine on the tramadol...

As someone else said you need to lay off the benzos.

Good luck in this, i dug myself a hole so deep these last 2 1/2-3 years with Benzo abuse that i can honestly say they are the worst years of my life so far. And not just for me but all those close to me (Friends, Family etc) As they have stood by helplessly while i self destructed, to the point where im possibly weeks away from being sent to an in-patient Detox clinic which is a sort of last resort type of action im lead to believe.

Im just talking from personal experience and im not try to scaremonger im just giving you an insight in what Benzos can do if they grab a hold of you.

Again i wish you well and hope you dont take the wrong turn in your life like i did.

Btw i am an extreme case and ive probably repeated myself over and over when it comes to the (or my) pitfall with regards to Benzos.
