Whats the big dealio with this Mice Pace caper? [aka the myspace thread]

I wanted to add Anna Kournikova but she hadnt signed in for years also.

Usually its just obsessed geeks who make myspace pages of thier idols, ie its not even really them. But... The Anna one was really her! I think.

Krystal from Big Bro is on there and its her. Rah roww

most of my friends are made up people, like

Osama, Paul Keating, Bob Hawke, Johnny from Karate Kid, He man, Skeletor...

The list goes on

Unlikely mate ^

Is FaceBook any less self indulgent than MySpace?

I got an invite to join but I don't want anything to do with anything to do with MySpace.

You would be surprised how may people you know from school (and elsewhere) are actually of facebook buddy. I joined because a mate had photos on there from a Euro trip that I wanted to look at but a few months later I have like 30 friends, mainly people I went to school with, but still good to catch up.

Thats what its mainly good for (finding old mates) because the messages arent anything that can be done with an email.

^There is an add on application that I think you would like. Its called the daily athiest quote. Todays is....

"History does not record anywhere at any time a religion that has any rational basis. Religion is a crutch for people not strong enough to stand up to the unknown without help. But, like dandruff, most people do have a religion and spend time and money on it and seem to derive considerable pleasure from fiddling with it." - Robert A. Heinlein

I hate most of the people from my High School. The people I want to see I already do.

Word to that, mummyfucker. I don't see ANYONE from my highschool, because i pretty much realise that most of them were knobjockeys. I have a theory with highschool - a large amount of kids, from all walks of life, are thrown together, and you pretty much have to find the ones you hate the least. If you're lucky, you'll meet awesome people, but to those who have... count yourselves lucky, it doesn't happen alot. There were people i didn't mind hanging out with, and we had some fun times, but as soon as school finished, we really really grew apart, and their lives have gone in very different directions. I think i liked about 4 people in my grade and the rest of them i held in varying degrees of contempt.

I used to think that ^^

but ive figured out that the stupid arse way that social systems are set up in primary/high school just tend to bring the 'wanker' out in everyone!

People mature, but unfortunately the true "wankers" are stuck in Highschool mode (usually the ones that dont leave their home town)

See, i don't believe that's the case... I had more friends out of school (as in, from other schools) who were awesome, and friends a year above and below who were the same. In all honesty, i just think that most of my grade were dickheads. I've bumped into various people from my grade, over the years, and they're still idiots... they're just better at it now. :\ Our small group tended to keep to ourselves, and watch the shit and drama fold out, work out, and fold out again...and again.

Myspace is a complete piece of crap. It times out, looks like ass (dont give paints to the kindergarten kids), it has loads of errors, always gets hacked due to its rubbish security, is plagued my spammers and it loses messages constantly

Facebook has much higher quality tech and is overall a far superior socialising service. I still dont trust the data mining possibilities though.

*hides under his aluminum hat*

No doubt, the amount of information they glean from all the applications you add. Goldmine. Still, it lets me give my friends virtual baked goods so it must be worth it :)

Facebook is far superior technically but will never be as marketable

Take your snappy standards compliant code and horrible privacy optioins

ill stick with 18 year old girls

^ I think facebook is much more marketable, than myspace. People are migrating to it in droves and as its a social networking site it has a snowball effect

I predict that unless myspace matches some of the better super-social facebook features like newsfeeds it will die off
