Whats the big dealio with this Mice Pace caper? [aka the myspace thread]

I have an account, never use it whatsoever. I use my BME IAM page to communicate with people, and they give us the common courtesy of allowing naked pics (anything goes, body modification). The only reason I haven't deleted the vaccious braindead tripe monger of a website is that my last 6 freinds from Long Island (recently relocated to an undisclosed mountain location) are on there, and It's sometimes the only way of getting in touch with them. But aside from that, mydisgrace is not where its at.
 
I got into it for a bit when my friends were also allowed to use myspace at work. Now everyones getting it f*cking banned. Im pretty over it these days. I wouldn't 'myspace' in my personal time, put it that way. Once upon a time i did love it though.

I like it lot's for music also caroline, as i only have the net at work 'downloading' isn't an option.

I must sound like a real hard worker hey! :p lol

edit : people who say they have a facebook or lj but hate myspace. That i don't understand. It's all the same shit really, minus the minor details.

I have one and use it a bit. I log on everyday and im usually logged on for all of 5 minutes. There is usually one of two things that happens, one i get a comment i read it and decide if i could be bothered repying to it OR nothing has changed and if nothing stands out at me (e.g. band announcement etc) i just log off again.

But honestly a lot of it is just a big dick measuring exercise at times

And trancegirlie, did you even read my post? I explained why i think myspace sucks donkey balls compared to facebook. If you disagree, why not explain why? Rather than merely making bland statements that wouldn't pass mustard if ah sdhit i'm drunk and cant finish that sentence.. but next time gadget! next time!
 
ok my i'm on myspace.... i seem to log in every few days when i have messages or something. I'm not too fussed on it but don't hate it anymore.

I joined facebook cos i just kept getting requests.... it's a little boring

same with "tagged" its kinda dumb too but once i added stuff to my profile randoms seem to message me... i think i'll delete my account really

too many myspace type sites! What am i supposed to be doing on all these stupid sites?

And anyone that knows anything at all about user-friendliness, human-interface design, or web design knows that myspace basically sucks.

Truth be told i actually dont care about the subject of myspace versus facebook ect enough to explain my statement in further detail. Il think twice before posting something so bland next time.

Both are basically an entertainment tool for me. I didn't use them so i could 'design my own web page'. I was bored one day so made accounts. A few of my friends had one. Twas fun. Now im over it.

Each to thier own

Bluelight's really the only thing that i use the net for regularly.
 
I have a myspace and i like it. 200 000 000? (is that two hundred million?) can't be wrong. Or at least they can't be that wrong

What he's basically saying, is that myspace hurts the eyes.


And on that note, assaults the ears too. What's with music starting as soon as you go to a page (and starting 10 years before the rest of the page loads and you can stop it).

I still don't have one and don't plan on getting one, even though it means I can't see a friend's art because you can't view pics without a login.

I don't quite get the publicising which school you went to on myspace. I don't want people from school to find me on the internet. The people who I liked at school, I know how to contact, the rest, I'll run into at the ten year reunion... that will be more than enough.

However im having a competition with me girl as to who has more friends. i only have 26 and she has 70-something.

Therefore please add my to myspace, i promise ill never talk to you and i dont update my blog because i dont really care.

I didn't even attend my 10 year reunion, because 99% of the people i went to school with were dicks.

I recently joined Face Book, because my cousin and her friend, who were backpacking around Australia (they're both from the UK) and were staying with us, both have one and I wanted to see their photos. I like it, far more than i like myspace, mainly for the reasons that potato and Kat have raised. I feel like i'm going to have an epileptic fit when i've viewed some peoples profile pages, and please don't force your shitty music into my ears.

No really, I lost contact with a lot of great friends from HS b/c I have moved a lot. Because of Myspace, I have regained those friendships. Just last night in fact I was contacted by a guy that ran in our circle in HS that I was very close to. He travels for his job, and will be in my city for the entire next month.

Things like this just make me happy. I have family all over the US and its so easy to share pictures of our families and to keep in contact.

I do understand the others complaints, about the ridiculousness of the flashiness on ones page, and the friend # competition, and the AWFUL top friends (i.e. "WHAT?? I'm NUMBER SIX on your top friends?? How could you??)

Fuck that shit.
 
I like Facebook, but then I haven't really given mice-pace a good run. Tis a bit too flash for me, and I like all the add-ons in facebook.

Have also had the experience of catching up with old friends and school mates through FB. A lot easier than actually trying to track them down!
