Whats the big dealio with this Mice Pace caper? [aka the myspace thread]

I started another one because frankly I have nothing better to do between 9 and 5. Anyway, after getting sick of the random friend requests I turned it into an I Love Jesus page but am discovering that I'm getting even more requests from very weird evangelists.

Myspace is the best tool to spy on people. :D

I succomed and joined to cos of requests but i don't like it. It hardly loads anyway when i try so i give up.

LMAO.. it doesnt look like your too lonely

myspace is simply a place on the web that people can give birth to that image in their head of what they think they look like...

but actually don't..

What's it actually for? Was talking with a friend about it the other week and apart from if you want to promote your music it really has no purpose at all! I'm surprised as to how many people are on it that i know actually. It's really quite weird. I've been getting into it lately but i don't even know why. Although i havn't been on for a little while. Guess i get bored of it rather quickly *shrugs*

I was hooked on MySpace for a week. Then I actually stopped and thought, "What is the point in messaging people I would never usually go out of my way to contact?" Needless to say my addiction is cured.

if its been done before i really dont care

who else uses it now and then but hates it as much as i do.
every so often wheni log in i have a new "friend request" from someone i havent spoken to for years. kind of a cool way of catching up with old school peeps (yeh im cool, i said peeps, now eat it)

yeh!!!!!!!

sickkkest thread to get closed in ages.

i use it, unfortunately. SEVENTEEN FRIENDS, NO BANDS!

facebook is a shitload better, but as with most social networking sites, noone is going to go if their friends aren't there and if their friends aren't there then no-one will sign up

catch 22

also, myspace is an awesome way of seeing what your family is saying about you behind your back

yeh i completely gave up on my LJ as well.

and WTFis facebook, sounds like somthing i want to punch in the face, moe than my space

facebook is just a better implemented social network, especially the way they have handled schools and networks

plus looking at different profiles won't send you blind due to all the animated bling bling myspace has

i understand the epileptic generation hate the html coding with colouring and flashing lights but they can get used to it

haha yep i abandoned livejournal for myspace aswell, and i've attempted facebook, but i'm not feelin it. myspace is awesome for music listening

why facebook is better than myspace

ive got a resolution of 1280x1024 and i've never had to scroll the page horizontally on facebook :|

why myspace is better than facebook

LOOK AT HOW PRETTY MY FUCKING PAGE IS! (it's easy to find)

Yeh spot on. Myspace sucks rats balls. You dont have to be part of 'the epileptic generation' (wtf IS that anyway?) to find the average ridiculously-arranged, flashing, dark text on dark-background, blaring-music-starts-playing-as-soon-as-you-land-on-someones-profile-page myspace page a horrific experience. And anyone that knows anything at all about user-friendliness, human-interface design, or web design knows that myspace basically sucks.

Facebook is teh sex. I'm rather addicted to it of late so biased, but as i have had quite some success converting uni friends to it, it will definitely be the tool i stick with. Will post (long) list of reasons why its better later, but hell, even just the user-interface and the fact that its not full of bleeding emos makes it better.

Edit - Carolin, i agree that Myspace can be good for finding/tracking bands esp indie, but to be honest i have a bunch of friends all with great, eclectic taste in music, and i go to them (in like, the real world, ya know. them being real - not myspace - friends and all) when i want to discover new music.
