LMAO... I work in morrisotwn.... I thought there were a lot of rich white jewish lawyers but then i saw the hispanics! Most peaceful town ever tho I must say, seeing eye dogs being trained ALL over town all day long (no joke). REAL hardcore;) But on the other hand Id rather swallow glass then walk around the streets of camden or patterson alone at night, CREEPY!

STFU about "Patterson" It aint "Patterson"and never been patterson n never will be. It is paterson. and it aint "CREEPY" :| "OMG liek its scarry n shit omg!?" then what you doin down there if u scared....dont be there....if u cant hang...
 
Lol as long as you stay away from the towers in p town, you'll be alright.

there are some places where you'll definitely get robbed but i don't think you'd get killed no matter the place, unless you were a dumbass and tried to start scrappin against a gun.
 
Hah! I just passed thru paterson (for my job) and it reminds me sooo much of Pleasentville right outside Atlantic City.. Just a bit larger. It's like a heroin filled, ghetto ass suburban neighborhood or something... Kind of a strange town, but interesting. Also the irony of a ghetto named Pleasentville never really gets old for me. I've lived in Ft.Lauderdale and Miami, and I gotta say Jersey is the "harder" state, but theres MANY more strange ass freaky people in FLA.

U talkin bout tha pound...

You get killed anywhere you go yo, it dont matter the hood its the people u fuck wit and how you act n conduct yourself. u get killed in p town just like u get killed in newark or n.orleans or east new york or whatever, u feel me? people dont realize the main thing...if u just passin thru....u keep to yourself n dont act stupid n you most likely gonna be straight....people be all worried hearin bout ppl gettin shot or whatever not thinkin most of the ppl that happens to, is caught up n involved in shit, you feel me, they got reasons for that shit, it aint all just random. u just visiting, u aint involved in no drama or nothin, n aint a part of the life , n u aint got to worry about that they aint worried about u....The most u got to worry about is stickin out of place n gettin ran up on wit some guns or whatever cuz u were stupid n brought a nice car/nice clothes etc to the hood and made notice of it. thats what people who dont know whas up got to worry about....not real intense shit mostly....sure there is always the random freak wrong place wrong time kinda problems, but in general when you passin thru, YOU aint the one who got to live wit the problems there, you are just in n out, so i dont know why people get so paranoid about whats gonna happen to em like the hood is a livin breathin monster thats gonna break ur windows n eat u a live just for passing over a certain street....u feel me....

@ synth007, where in paterson were u at? I definatley wouldnt call it a "suburban" neighborhood lol....unless u were drivin thru on the outside by clifton or some shit....

Lol trust me I know, I've been to the hood in ptown lots of times and you're right, it's not that bad. In fact, some parts like south p are actually mad chill (go to mainstreet and grab a falafel lol)

But, when people run up on you with a knife or a gun the area does come into play. If you're in Detroit or Newark or Camden or something like that, people there would be more likely to cap you during a robbery than in ptown.

It's just a matter of how desperate and hard they are, and the city plays a big part in it. Paterson is ghetto but I think it's just a funny little hood, people there aren't that hard pressed for loot and they are far from poverty stricken for the most part.

However, there are places that exist in other cities where you will get capped or stabbed if you're not from around there, like if you step on someone's turf or the doorstep of some gangsta ass gang.

I fuckin love this thread! Born and raised all my life in a 10 mile radius of New Brunswick.
Skateboarding in NYC, Newark, Jersey City, Spanish Harlem, and of course I've taken my pasty white skateboardin ass into the Bronx. I did an internship in Newark, I've worked at UMDNJ in Newark, and always loved the gun shots, motorcycles doing 5 minute burnouts, gun shots, junkies. Fucking awesome shit!
Jersey is like opiates, you love and hate all at once. Pretty fucking intense individuals live here all around.

You get south of exit 8A on the turnpike and things change.

Sorry, if this has already been said (could be bothered reading the whole thread)--but why do people from NY hate on people from NJ?

Keep in mind that I'm aussie, and I know everything I know about the US from watching sit-coms and cartoons.
 
hahahah that's funny. You should come by here more often and get and education ;) I don't think NYers harbor and malice towards NJers but i will let the resident experts come in and let ya know.
