What's Good on European and African TV v. Walking the Dead

The Ryan O'Reiily / Keller Manlove gave me ladyspasms every episode.

Same for the Ryan / Shrink ongoing tension.

Watched the whole 6 seasons in like 2 weeks or a month or something.

So many fucking awesome characters and a great script

Nooo I've missed two episodes of Dowton Abbey. Never mind. I've put a series link on now so no more will be mussed.

Where would I be without sky plus ?

Eh we only had 4 channels once upon a time, imagine that! The sheer hardship of it hahahaha

Downton for Sunday
Wentworth for Wednesday
New Dallas for Thursday

Canae fecking wait!

Evey

I have never seen an episode of Downton Abbey.
I have never seen an entire episode of Friends
I have never watched an episode of the X factor and all the hundreds of other shite talent shows

Most TV is utter garbage atm. I mean, I love garbage, but it's my garbage, so it's still relatively acceptable, obviously ;p

I watched a 'history of tv (in Britain)' documentary a while ago: there was only bbc1 to start with, and that only broadcast for a few hours in the early evening, so as to entertain and inform the well-to-do (only the wealthiest people had a TV at that time), but not keep them up too late, and daytime TV didnt come along for ages, that was taboo. I cant remember whether itv or bbc2 came next, quite a long time later, channel 4 didnt appear until the early 1980s iirc. Now we can get over 500 channels if we want to pay for them, but imo only a handful of them are actually worth watching.

Yup my parents are old enough that they remember having to go to others houses to watch important events like the coronation when they were little.

It was a case of the one family who owned a TV on the street...

That was just povvo Scotland mate=D;)

Saw a thing called '24 hours in police custody' yesterday that was pretty interesting. Other than that I'm liking the proliferation of Guy Martin fronted engineering shows that seem to be on C4 at the moment. Eminently watchable guy and good if you have a lay interest in the industrial revolution in this country etc.

Shirley Manson's kind of good looking in the right light but they only made one or two decent tunes really. Pretty sure I saw them years ago now. Might be FMS though.

Wodja mean off-topic?

Quite right. Also, people relied heavily on cinema newsreels until well after the end of WWII.

The guy in my mother's street used to cover his treasured TV set with a tarpaulin at night, lest the dreaded rays seep out of it and damage his family's health.

Well, whaddya know? :D

I'd imagine any small radiation risk was further minimised by the fact the set was turned off, but you can never be too cautious. Harm reduction, no?

Yeah he couldn't have looked more guilty if he tried, good work from the lawyer.

The lawyer seemed like a proper slimy, limp handshake fuck. Still he'd obviously made a name for himself 'in the community' as the guy knew who to phone straight away.

Yeah right down to the "Law" custom number plates.

Was a risky strategy but it paid off this time.
