Right - finished it now and while the cllimax was predictably melodramatic it gets a big pass as a whole and ill make sure i watch the second season as soon as its available (while doing my best to avoid the american and uk/french remakes like the plague). Going to carry on the scandinavian crime vibe with 'the killing' plus a book my pa has recommended and given to me 'midwinter sacrifice' by mons kalllentoft.

Just gonna fall asleep watching Blacklist, s'meant to be ace. And I fell in love with Spader in 1984, so should be good fantasy/daydream material. gawd knows I need that atm

Have a looksee if you're looking for something new to watch. It's had ace reviews. Currently about 9 episodes into the first season.

Blacklist - Wiki

Raymond "Red" Reddington, one of the FBI's most wanted fugitives, surrenders at FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C. He claims the FBI and he have similar interests in getting rid of dangerous criminals and terrorists. Reddington will cooperate only with Elizabeth Keen, a rookie FBI profiler. Keen questions Reddington's sudden interest in her, but Reddington will only reveal that she is very special. After the FBI uses Reddington's information to locate a terrorist, Reddington reveals that this terrorist is only the first of many criminals that he will help them neutralize. Over the course of his own criminal career, he has made a list of global criminals who he believes are truly dangerous to society, most of whom are unknown to the FBI. Reddington calls it "The Blacklist".

Spader worship:

Me too. Not this season, but the previous two theyve been pretty standard and not pushing on with the red john storyline, and instead just having the generic cases, but this season has been 100% red john focused so I recon it will be the last. I hope it ends on a high. Its been decent so far.

Have you seen this weeks episode?
[edit] .. eh you must have othewise you wouldnt be mentioning RJ
... dont be so sure it's him ... the woman from the church with the black cloak and the knife, you also got a real quick flash of her runnning towards the rest of the crew (cho/van pelt etc) in the cars .. but nothing came of it ...

Yep, thought it was pretty good and unexpected. I can't see there being another season, I don't even know how they go on from here. I've heard what the next episode will be but not sure how it's all going to fit in. Should be interesting anyway, as long as they don't drag it out!

Sorry for the double post but help I'm silly and don't know how to make the spoiler button!

It's difficult to use actually, I just had to fiddle ...

write down whatever it is that needs to be put underneath the spoiiler tags, highlight it, then click the spoiler icon and it wants you to put in a reason for it

see in my post 'did you notice the woman:' ... I just wrote that as my reason

when you click on the spoiler button in your options it wants a header or reason entering for some reason ... so I just wrote that

If that doesnt make sense, just use the NSFW option, its loads easier.

Cool, thanks :)

Possibly yes, the woman came out of nowhere and normally the show likes to associate the characters. I mean who was she? Police, friend or something? I'm pretty sure the producers have said that it's the end of the Red John story though. Unless they bring it back at the very end and just keeping suspense going, although I'm pretty sure that's what they said they didn't want to do. I found the ending of that last episode quite intense and appropriate to what Jane always said he was going to do. Right, I'll see if I can find that article.

I can't remember the name of the guy, but it was someone Jane had a past with ... an older teacher of some kind, who's paths happened to cross in a case and Jane may have asked him for some help. There was a kind of rivalry between them ... it was towards the end of a season 3 or 4 ... wish I could rememberm but the episode ended with them saying their goodbyes on a beach somewhere ... it left a lingering feeling and he was always been in the back of my mind since ...

Is that the guy from the Las Vegas episodes? Hmm I don't think I can remember the guy you're talking about. Jane has too many past enemies, or maybe that's too strong a word, perhaps foes. Oh that reminds me actually, what about the woman (actress from Homeland, Brodie's wife) he put in jail and she escaped to some exotic island. Definitely unfinished business with that story. After re-reading that article I would put on a safe bet that the Red John saga is finished. The guy sounds pretty certain, unless as mentioned he's leading us on.

Hrmn, interesting.

he really is dead then I'd just be more than happy for jane to get the fuck out of dodge and go live somewhere abroad with Lisbon <3

Well this is it, where can they go from here? Surely this has to be the last season. Don't really have any ideas on how else they could end the show if they did decide to extend.

Interesting indeed.
