What'd you do to get off your butt today? v. "That's not real exercise!"

did pushups and crunches this morning and then walked home carrying groceries (the walk is about 2.5 miles)

I've been trying to do the pushups/crunches and walk home from work every weekday in an effort to get more in shape. Even though I've been doing it for a month and a half I haven't felt much of an improvement. I think its just starting to get better, and I hope in a month more I can look back and go "hey, I have improved my health!"
Even if you don't notice an improvement in health, there has probably been an improvement as our bodies thrive off of being active. Some of the benefits of exercising/being active in general aren't very obvious.

The latter part of the trail I took is called the "Giant Stairway". It is 900 steps, 400 metres vertical climb. It was absolutely brutal!!!! As I was approaching it I was like "Pffft, this will be a piece of cake, I'm pretty fit at the moment, let's do this!"
But it absolutely kicked my arse =D

I will be sore tomorrow ;)
Man, I LOVE trails like that. Granted there's only one that I know of around here, but it was TOUGH! In a few places, the stairs are crooked, too. 8o

OH, also, n3o, you asked a couple posts back what's wrong with my little dog--It's just an ear infection. Not sure what it's from, but she's being treated right now with ear drops and some steroids so I can clean her ear tomorrow or Tuesday.

::promise not to make this my own personal blog::
Hey, finding the motivation to get off your butt is perfectly fine in this thread. :P I'm glad you got the push and went to the gym. :)

I haven't done anything today. :P I will probably go for a walk with my bigger dog once it cools off a bit.

Yesterday I biked quite a bit. :D Did about twenty miles total though not all at once.

Biked to work today, worked, pushed carts (it got up to about 85* today), worked, biked home.

Thinking of doing some yoga and massaging my feet / thighs. I'm in some pain.

Yesterday: biked to work, worked, biked home. Biked about 5 miles each way to a concert, biked 3 miles to Denny's after (lol).

^ Go for it, PI! You can do it! :P

Have yet to do anything today. Didn't end up going for that walk yesterday. :-/

Went to the grocery store via bicycle--Three miles there and three miles back with twenty pounds (yes, I weighed the backpack) of food. Wasn't expecting the store in town to have organic potatoes, so I had to get a five pound bag. :P

did ramped up sets, 5x5.. maxing out with 5x125 on squat, 5x102,5 on bench press and 5x82,5 on bent over row.. (all kg's)

Did some crunches, bicycles and hyper-extensions after.

Did my morning crunches (70 total with some breaks), pushups (42 total with some breaks), and lifted my 10lb weights for a bit. Slowly getting better, a month ago i only did 50 crunches and 25 pushups total. I'm trying to increase my count by 1 every day or two.

Now gonna walk to my work (2.5 miles) and walk back later tonight. Yay exercise (yeah, i know its mild compared to a lot of what y'all are doing, but at least its something).

^Dammit I need to start doing more regular ab crunches!

Okay, went for an hour and a half hike today in woodland-awesome!
Trying to build up my strength again and hopefully will be an incentive to cut down on blasted cigarettes...8)

Started a run on the treadmill, my shins were killing me!! So I stopped after 5 mins.

....and cracked a beer instead :\

I'll make up for it tomorrow :)

4.6 mile trail run in 50 minutes
That is amazing PI!! Go you!
