What'd you do to get off your butt today? v. "That's not real exercise!"

i start to lose now. my mate cancelled our membership. i'm now stuck with the new but relatively shitty equipment in my apartment complex gym. tried to do my back and lat and bicep group.... i don't like relying on poor quality pully machines. it's all i got now, expect a couple of dumbells at home. :(

spent time in the sauna which was nice

Buy metal mate. It's all you need. Fuck wasting money on fancy machines that reduce the true resistance value! A barbell, bench, dumbbells and iron plates are all a man needs. Hell, you don't even really need a bench. Find a cheap set with the money you make from selling the shitty machine!

Yesterday did recovery day on intermediate strength program:

Squat (recovery):
20X10
40X5
60X5
80X5
100X5X2

Bench Press (Heavy five sets across):
20x10
40x5
60x5
80x4
100x5x5 (new 5x5 PR, landmark one too :D)

(Assistance exercise) Triceps dips
BWx15
BWx10
BWx8

(assistance exercise) Barbell Curls
20x10
30x10
30x8
30x4

Normally I'd do 45:90 second (sprint:active rest) sprint intervals on the stationary bike, but I had to go to class.

Today I did 120 press ups, 100 sit ups, stomach crunches, dumbell curls.

Tomorrow I'm going to do jog, sit ups, stomach crunches, bench press, dumbells and pull ups.

i wish, we're strapped for space as it is. Sharing a 2 b/r apartment with a japanes couple on top of a city building reduces my options significantly. actually i might could swing some metal on my balcony, but yeah the machine aint mine to sell, it's part of the building i rent in.

the best i could hope for right, being so strapped for cash, is a long shot hope to maintain my recent gains by using my dumbells with the bodypump class videos i've sourced online and some punching bag stuff. :(

I think I reopened an umbilical hernia that I had repaired in march it had been hurtin for a few days then i wake up and I'm like wtf had to calm wifey down cause she was ready to get dressed and run me to the er but fuck sittin for 4 or 5 hours waiting for them to tell me what i already know.

shot some hoops. got a good run in. although my dribbling and shooting were both better than usual, i refused the repeated requests for games. didn't want to harm my relatively recent branding. any rubbing would bloody kill, and risk infection.

Just out of curiosity, why did you do that?

That's pretty crazy how cramped you must be! 4 people renting a 2 bed apt.....still, living the city life and that, brap brap brap.
You could maintain all of your gains with dumbbells and weighted bodyweight exercises.
Pullups/chinups and pushups, when weighted, effectively work as squats for your upper body and a kind of bench press substitute (but much more effective, imo),
respectively. Both fantastic, imperative lifts. There are a million and one variations of the pushup.
You could also do bent rows (one-arm or both), DB fly's (the best chest exercise, without a doubt), DB press, Shoulder press, one-arm tricep extension, hammer curls, lateral raise and you could even do DB squats.
In effect, you could pretty much do all you would ever need to do with DB's, bar squats and deads of course, but you could do DB deads and DB squats.

So long as you have the DB 's that you add weights to, of course. Get them!

The tri racing season has started again for me. It honestly has been so long since I've been out on my racing bike and I forgot just how much fun it was :D
90mins strong ride followed by a run off the bike - it really has been far too long. Must use this thread as public 'reminder' for my training

thanks for that attempt4, very inspiring, mate!

not all hope is lost, wifey authorised casual visits to the gym in the local community centre, no idea what it's like though. and today went to my apartment gym and got some good inclined situps in and the pec fly pully isn't that bad actually. got a good pump out of it after finishing with a dropset.

the machines annoy me because the cable feels like it stretches.

ran for 45 mins (okay okay mostly fast walked lol). weights for obliques, triceps, shoulders, chest. sit ups. looking foreward to being sore in the morning :)

despite my chest burn the other day, no soreness resulted :( my abs on the other hand still hurt, but they've been neglected for years.

Do you usually get DOMS? I actually don't get too much soreness at all, which is surprising as it's not as if I'm doing easy sessions or anything.

I have never really thought about it, but I reckon it's partly due to effective pre-stretching and warming up/down coupled with diet rich in magnesium especially as well as other vital minerals.

i stretch well, and would consistently get soreness a couple of days later when working out at the proper gym. DOMS?
