I'm a shit cook but a great bread maker.

Wholemeal seeded loaf from a mother and a rye leaven. No white flour at all, the bread of diabetics. Or should be.

Lush.

Nice SHM, never baked my own bread, never done any baking in fact. Thai food here tonight, duck red curry, beef massaman, green chicken curry, rice and loads of spring rolls and other starters.

I went through a stage of baking all my own bread and it is well worth the effort, not sure why i stopped bothering in the end really. I might give it ago again.

Waiting for a indian to arrive at the moment. Mixed tika starter, garlic chilli king prawns with pilau rice for the main, with popadoms and chutney obviously.

I'm making pulled pork at the moment for the first time. I've just put it in the oven and it takes 12 hours to cook. Hopefully it will be worth the wait.

Yeah I went mad on baking for a couple of years before my son started school...I was okay at it, but I got pissed off that the bread was DELICIOUS on day one, but next day was not unpleasant, but wasn't great, so we ended up eating a whole loaf a day....

Once I got into the habit of making a loaf a day, it just became one of those things you do, and it's part of your day...now I'm out the habit, a good couple of years out of the habit it seems like a big job again...

Pulled pork should be fuckin lovely. :) Got plenty of time to make a loaf to go with it. :D

you know I eat shitloads, and me wife's a fat porker too.

(we used to manage most of a loaf a day, but not finish it, but we just used to give leftovers to the birds, ducks or whatever....but we made a loaf a day cos its only nice for a day)

I think those brown bread rock solid brick things SHM makes stay the same for a week, like a brick.

You've just reminded me exactly why i stoped making bread. Like you say day one amazing, day 2 quite nice on day 3 croutons or bin. I'm probably not going to make my own bread for the pork but i am making my own spicy coleslaw. How well does pulled pork reheat? I'm cooking lots and its just me eating it. How rank would it be cold in sandwiches for the weak?

Making the bread I make is easy and my one concession to diabetes. I keep a mother yeast going in the fridge permanently, just need feeding once a week if not bread making, takes less than a minute to feed, then the actual bread takes time, not effort. No kneading, just folding. Rye leaven ftw.

And it has no white flour. ALL the bread you buy in the high street, even the brown loaves, have white flour. White flour is a major factor in diabetes.

Tl;dr? Fuck off my bread's lovely, keeps two days easy by which time it's eaten.

Pulled pork is fucking amazing, one of my favourites. I love any sort of roasted pork or slow cooked pork particularly if it's smoked. I was quite looking forward to Thai food tonight but never enjoyed it. I was really put off Thai food in my last few weeks there but I though after not eating it for 4.5 months I'd enjoy it yet still the smell and look of it put me right off immediately. Felt sick eating it. Thai food has went from being my fave food ever to a food I hate. :(

Just had a fucking cracker of a dinner...got given a couple of pheasants earlier in the week...

Had the breasts wrapped in smoked streaky bacon, browned in a pan, then just 10 mins in the oven...

Tiny peeled new potatoes roasted with long parsnip chips...

Chard leaf just steamed, the stems sliced thinly and braised with leeks and butter and pepper......

and some carrots and sprouts.

Was the best dinner I've made for a while, everything worked, I'm happy :)

Least the missus will be happy for another week eh MM? ;)

I love pheasant, hardly ever eat it though. I ate breakfast / lunch around half 3 today so I'm giving dinner a miss for now. Picked up some really cheap innocent veg pots (Mexican veg chilli and indian dahl) at Co-op earlier, never tried them, so prob have one later.

The pulled pork was amazing. The meat fell straight of the bone. I've eaten a ridiculous amount of it now though, i just cant stop picking at it.

beef curry again with potatoes and a naan, and some more k cider,

oh and for COLTDAN in the gibberings threads knowledge, meaning I'm gonna disappear, doesn't mean from bl, just means I wanted to disapear from other things, just fuck of you fucking cunt dan.
