Supercar - BE
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWBYeqzbSFI

Great song, but a better music video.
A man in a soccer uniform is given a cage of soccer balls and is placed around 25m away from the net. Another man in a business suit armed with a gun stands behind him, facing a long line of people that the soccer player knows.

For every goal the soccer player misses, the armed man executes someone from the line.

This video has the highest kill count of any music video I've ever seen.

Anthony Hamilton - Comin' From Where I'm From
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1STrrKm99xU

Typical R&B/Gruff voice/Fallen on hard times combo.

Notable for the line "Sometimes I gotta walk to work."
I walked to work every day last week, so I guess this means that I can empathise with the Black Man's Struggle.

The Gutter Twins - God's Childern

There is something about Mark Lanegan's voice that is amazing.

I had no idea who the bloke was before i saw him live with QOTSA...

Hopefully they do a show in Sydney when they come out for splendour!

...
Girl Talk - Feed the Animals
....

I've been listening to that on and off over the last few weeks too, one of those albums you can unashamedly dance about the house to %)

I can't get enough of Röyksopp - Junior at the moment, especially the girl and the robot. A little cheesy but I'm loving it :D

Have been busy of late and the Melbourne weather has been atrocious, so good old Rob Dougan has been keeping me motivated with 'I'm not driving anymore'.

Temple of the Dog - Hunger Strike

I'd forgotten that song ever existed until just know

Guess what... sounds dated

after listening to a good majority of old UNKLE most of the night... which was fuckin awesome by the way...

i am now listening to a new album by Staind...

Current Track - This Is It

Aaron Lewis has always had one of the better voices that come out of the nu-metal era... and thier guitarist Mike Mudshok (i think) is amazing...

i dont think they ever came to Australia... probably no great loss

matt and kim - daylight

Finished an amazing greek dinner + ouzo at santorini and get a message about something something something why aren't I at Matt and Kim?

He expected me to know. I didn't. I get home and it's ohhhhhhh.

and in the daylight we can hitchhike to maine
i hope that someday i’ll see without these frames
and in the daylight i don’t pick up my phone
cause in the daylight anywhere feels like home

Two albums

COLTEMONIKHA and COLTEMONIKHA 2

A shibuya-kei group made up of Sakai Kate and Nakata Yasutaka, the latter being the producer behind Capsule and Perfume.

The music is a lot less aggressive than his other works (as if J-Pop could be truly aggressive-sounding in the first place), almost to the point of chillout

"Darkness Rabbit" off COLTEMONIKHA 2

The Gap Band - Yearning For Your Love

Classic early 80s smooth funk. I decided to download their greatest hits due to the strength of their other singles such as Outstanding and You Dropped A Bomb On Me.

Also, if you listen to the beginning of the song, you'll notice the familiar instrumental loop from Nas & AZ - Life's A Bitch which is probably my favourite hip-hop song by a clear margin.

I hate the way - Polly Scattergood

Anyone who likes powerfully felt lyrics listen to this

There were a couple of tracks on Powderfinger's Odyssey Number Five that never made it as singles (or into the Hottest 100 that year) that I've always liked.

Powderfinger - Up And Down And Back Again

If everybody knows just who you are
When your walk on role becomes a major part
Have you ever attempted to be yourself?
When everybody wants you to be someone else

and

Powderfinger - Whatever Makes You Happy

OMG. I've just realised i've been listening to EMINEM all wrong all this time. I've been getting the up beast mixed up with the down (i want a cardiotwister) beats. He is awsome.

nitin sawhney
days of fire
