british india - This dance is loaded

i think i remember seeing these guys at falls... i think it was the first night.

I've had a soft spot for these kids for ages.

I've got God Is Dead, Meet The Kids on high rotation at the moment.

I'm hoping after a few listens the rest of the album will be as appealing. :)

Chops: Actually I'm pretty sure they played on the second afternoon. There was definite light. I'd probably trust your memory over mine though.

Buddy Holly - Dearest

Everything about the Juno sountrack is working for me right now.

I still agree with the Juno claim. This is for my favourite guy who isn't +61 anymore and I miss him so much.

Kimya Dawson - So nice, so smart

I like boys with strong convictions
And convicts with perfect diction
Underdogs with good intentions
Amputees with stamp collections
Plywood skinboards ride the ocean
Salty noses suntan lotion
Always seriously joking
And rambunctiously soft-spoken
I like boys that like their mothers
And i have a thing for brothers
But they always wait til we're under the covers
To say i'm sure glad we're not lovers

Radiohead- Sit Down, Stand Up

I'm so disappointed that I only got into Radiohead about 6 months ago. Fuck they are just so awesome...

Agent Orange - Broken Dreams

Pop punk the way it should be. Can't get enough of this band right now!

When you and I first began
We always gave each other a hand
Never did I expect to see
That all our love would fade away
I need time to pick up all the bits and pieces
of these broken dreams

Stiff Little Fingers - The entire collection on shuffle.

I have only just picked up on this punk band from Ireland

They kicked from 1977 to 1982 and these guys would have been as influential as the Ramones if any ever listened to them on masse

I'm surprised Greenday haven't acquired the masters of all their albums and burnt them.

Go listen to Stiff Little Fingers and you'll know why ;)

Bow Wow Wow - Aphrodisiac

Such a freaking cool song! They are using it on a Bonds ad at the moment so I had to dig it out and put it on repeat again. We used it at the launch party for Grazia last year so I smile every time I hear it.

A character in High Fidelity makes the Stiff Little Fingers - Green Day (ripping them off) connection. I saw Stiff Little Fingers last year and it was wicked, although I'm not entirely sure sharing a mosh pit with drunken, farting 40+ year old Irish expats is an experience I'm keen to jump right into again.

First album didn't leave my cd player for weeks after I bought it. The SLF cover of Bob Marley's Johnny Was A Good Man is fucking divine! The way each instrument kicks in and builds over the first two minutes is masterful, then another5 minutes of guitar heaven. I can't listen to that song without the volume creeping to ear destroying levels.

the hives - it won't be long

Whenever I've been pissed off lately I've put on The Black And White Album and it's made me feel so much better. This song has become a bit of a silent mantra even if I don't really mean it.

Got me a ticket and I won't be long
Cause I can't go on
And I gotta get gone

I do feel like a holiday though.

I remember that bit. :D Girly weekend away ftw.

The Beatles - Help

The lyrics are kinda downbeat but the song still lifts my mood. Damn that catchy tambourine.
