Jonah Matranga - All of Always New/I]
An album full of quirky, sad and haunting songs. I really like it has been on high rotation for a while.

Van She - The Sea

I've been listening to the CD a lot this week (especially Kelly). I had a pretty awesome time at their gig last week (even though it was a fucking weird crowd) and it definitely made me appreciate them a whole lot more. The fact they're from Sydney is a bonus.

Pantera - Walk

Not to sound all internet toughguy, but I'm fucking dying to crack someone in the nose after the day I've had.

This song is definitely not helping.

Gaudium - Kick Bas

Just got their cd today.

Mhhhmm psytrance is great.

^Preacha, I recommend aiming for the mouth, the top front teeth especially.

$5 Steak - Bliss n Eso

I bought their new album "Flying colours" today so I could get to know the album before seeing them tonight. I expect them to play stuff mostly from this cd, and a few old hits (as usual)...

Just wanted to join in the Beatlemania... my ex was one of the few people I've known who intensely disliked the Beatles. *shurgs*

The Beatles - Julia

Julia was written about John Lennon's mother, she was killed by a drunk driver when he was 17, it's the only Beatles song that John does solo. It's the last track of the first disc of The White Album.

According to record producer Butch Vig, "Julia" was sometimes played by Kurt Cobain at Nirvana recording sessions in 1991[4]. Dave Grohl, ex-Nirvana drummer and singer/guitarist of the Foo Fighters, has said that his life would be complete if he could write a song like "Julia."

The Beatles - Tomorrow Never Knows

Sorry for all the Beatles in here, but im obsessed at the moment, especially with John Lennon. I've heard alot of McCartney's stuff in the past, but im only starting to delve into Lennon and im loving it.

Turn off your mind, relax
and float down stream
It is not dying
It is not dying

Lay down all thought
Surrender to the void
It is shining
It is shining

That you may see
The meaning of within
It is being
It is being

That love is all
And love is everyone
It is knowing
It is knowing

That ignorance and hate
May mourn the dead
It is believing
It is believing

But listen to the
color of your dreams
It is not living
It is not living

Or play the game
existence to the end
Of the beginning
Of the beginning
Of the beginning
Of the beginning
Of the beginning
Of the beginning

What a great tune.

Samantha Ronson - Built This Way

Off the Mean Girls soundtrack. It's your typical angsty-chick pop-indie-rock except the guitars have an underwater-type sound which is definitely early 90s throwback (Come As You Are style). Kinda good.

Oh yeah, she also fingerbangs Lindsay Lohan.

Beck is a scientologist and therefore needs castration to prevent him passing on his genes of asininity.

I was listening to No Rain by Blind Melon because that song oozes cool like an aquatic platyheminth secreting mucous to make eerie, gliding locomotion possible.

But now I'm listening to Float by Flogging Molly.

This is my new favourite drunken melancholy song. Seriously, it's beautiful and brilliant.

Drank away the rest of the day
Wonder what my liver'd say
Drink, it's all you can

Blackened days with their bigger gales
Blow in your parlor to discuss the day
Listen, it's all you can

But don't, don't sink the boat
that you need, you build to keep afloat.
No don't, don't sink the boat
that you built...

Give it a go (a nice, scaled back acoustic version):

The newest moby CD whatever it's called, the first half is great, the second half not nearly as strong.

Calvin Harris - This is the Industry

Envy - Life Caught In The Rain

Most epic song released this year. No, I don't care if I have no idea wtf the singer is saying; still epix. Intro chills me out, the chorus does the opposite (1:52 onwards).

Hell, just get anything by Envy. At what other concert have you seen people moshing whilst people two meters away are weeping uncontrollably? That's right, you haven't seen that.

Envy = Epic
