Nice work, Cornish :)

Was off the booze for a while meself due to non-stop illness and ickifications. But that went wrong after that litre of voddy t'other day... That bottle of red I mentioned earlier didn't last long so just cracked open the sequel.

I am homesick, so I am drinking the taste of home...

I even took the photo myself.

The Newcastle federation Brewery stopped brewing in Newcastle many years ago. The bottle I have in my hand was brewed in Tadcaster, in

The smell of yeast next to St James's park no longer stinks the air , and the brewery has been knocked down. Along with Vaux brewery in Sunderland.

There is still a Brewery in Gatesheed (just over the river from Newcastle) but I don't know what it actually brews.

I was under the impression that the Gateshead brewery was still brewing Brown Ale, but I know about your Sam Smith's connections, so I assume there's is the Taddy brewery in question.

First beer I ever got into. I thought I was Ginger from the Wildhearts (who?).

Yeah, RIP Vaux. Double Maxim is now brewed (and sadly pasteurised) in Stockport by Robinson's. Brewing heritage really got fucked over by consolidation. A lot of gems are now a shadow of their former selves and/or have lost their regional identity. Shame.

EDIT: Anyone remember the futile marketing scam where S&N dropped the 'Ale' from the label in order to appeal to younger drinkers? Failed miserably.

Yeah, it's deffo brewed in Tadcaster. I'm not even sure what's brewed in Gateshead now.

I remember The Wildhearts, my best mate at school was obsessed with them. They're from up north :)

Ha, Double Maxim, reminds me of drinking at college in Durham, it was the thing to drink back in 1997.

I too was obsessed. Even had one of those 'Geordie In Wonderland' t-shirts they did that parodied the Brown Ale logo, despite:

a) Not being a Geordie
b) Not being in 'wonderland'

Ah well, it was either that, Oasis, metal or happy hardcore in east Mcr at the time. I think I took the right path.

Dooing the job tgough, I dont feel a thinkg!

I really can't be bothered to correct these horrific typos. So shall leafve them there for ever more.

Just had some Japanese green tea. It was very savoury, going to take some to work I think.

Just cleaning those alloys eh DS_ ?

Sipping on my 4th cup of coffee today, just waiting to see if this cup is the one to turn me into a hyper-productive individual...
