@KurtAurelius what substance(s) do you feel lend themselves best to writing? As a writer myself I always think it is interesting to see what drugs (if any) lead to the best outcomes. Personally I'd say meth and opiates combined work well for me. But I can write on nearly anything except benzos and sleeping pills.
Tonight I am taking it easy, I'm limiting myself to a few gabapentin and ...oh waaaaaait. This is the morning fix thread, not the evening fix where I meant to post! Guess those gabas are hitting me a little harder than I thought!
I do think writing and drugs go hand in hand, they can worsen writing but I’m writing Philosophical Treatise, and Modern Cut Up stuff atm, so I can proof read sober anyway. It’s only the treatise I’m careful writing, and I’m delaying proofreading a finished 140page manuscript because I am more interested in my new fucked up project lol.
Opioids and stimulants are best completely agree, my fav is DHC and Methylphenidate, I access the True confident self the easiest and I have the chemical needs to not be distracted by life, and the ADHD which always wants novelty.
Then it’s cannabinoids and psychedelics, low dose dissociatives can work too.
My current stack per se is a combo of Caffeine, Full Spectrum Cannabis (heavy on CBD+CBG alongside THC, Theanine and Valerian, Hops and PassionFlower.
That’s a sustainable option compared to Methylphenidate and DHC. I’m taking a break from those for a while lol.
Cannabis is the best for visual stuff, my visual memory/mind is crazy when I smoke, more crazier than if I had taken acid or shrooms. I just get distracted by trad psychedelics tbf but microdoses would be incredible for clarity.
But if I was on 200mg DHC, 90mg Concerta for 2 days .. I’d have my 25 pages cut up manuscript be buffed with the 100s of pages of cut up material I’ve already written and have it all neatly arranged in no time.
And I’m writing pretty well at the moment as it is.
Of course I usually have a see saw way of writing, bursts or little chips. But being on that combo is great for sheer work, cannabis is excellent for my style of writing needing fucked up visualisation..
