What was your 1st car ?

Silver Nissan Primera, 2001. 80,000 km on it. Loved the understated elegance of its look.

Paid 25,000,000 Bs at the time (2006), which was about $6250 at official rate, $12000 black market exchange rate. Used cars are inflation-proof investments in Venezuela's fucked up economy (due to state regulation on pricing of new cars, there is massive scarcity of new vehicles at official goverment prices and long waiting lists, so used vehicles are more expensive than new vehicles because new vehicles come with 6 month-2 years waiting lists, whereas used vehicles are immediately available. Inflation in Venezuela is circa/over 35% annualized, has been for a good five years.

But that Nissan Primera was a beautiful lady. Much prettier than my second and current car, a 2006 Hyundai Accent, silver, with a spoiler and rims. Only 19,000 km on it though.

I still have it too, I only got my driver's licence in 2009, it's my first and current motor.

Do you find it guzzles fuel like crazy? It's insane how little efficient it is. Seriously if I use it daily I end up spending more than 50 euros a week.

i loved this little car, it was a very difficult car to drive as a new driver aged 17. I caused a major traffic collision and wrote off my own car, and 3 oncoming cars, trying to push it too hard round it corner, It woulddnt have it and went into a skid i didnt have the skills to correct at that time. Id been lavishing care and attention on it over the weekend, full T cut job, the complete works and then wrote it off 3 days later. Id only had it about 2 months.

Its quite obvious by my clothes and hair who my musical idols were at that time: echo and the bunnymen and the jesus and mary chain. At that age you wanna dress like your heros and you can, at least i hope, succesfully get away with it, without looking absurd.

wow, thats some car for a first car. Id have crashed it within days. Id reccomend anyone to get an old banger for their first car, theres almost inevitably gonna be at least a few scrapes and prangs, and total write offs at the very worse.

And I loved the little fucker!!! It was so brilliant to chuck about. I have very fond memories of it taking my mates and I to festivals and parties et. al.
Also the time when I was incredibly stupid, driving back from the pub and I was dropping off my mates to their gaffs, and I was pulled over by a very lovely policewoman due to having one of my headlight bulbs not working.
There were cans of everything in the back of the car - from Dr. Pepper to Stout Ale - and I was lucky enough than she:
Didn't smell any Alcohol on my breath...
Didn't inspect the car and the people in it, as quite a few of the passengers had weed on them = Nevermind the empty cans in the back...
Was understanding enough that I didn't have my license on me because "the car was so easy to break into" (did it myself once)...
Understood that my mechanic was extremely busy and hadn't had chance to fix the said fucked light yet...
And all I had to do was go back to the local station within the 2 week time period with my license and proof of insurance! :D

Seriously though - I don't feel proud that I have drank and driven or that I was stoned for every single driving lesson.... Aaaand stoned for many journeys

Though I still enjoyed every minute in that little car and was very glad I didn't go for the French alternative that was offered to me %)

this is in the US though, its just another car over here. and itd just be another car over in the UK too but it would actually look like a fairly large car compared to what I saw on the roadways

My first car was a mk2 Toyota MR2 Turbo. I was young, stupid, living at home and could only just afford the insurance. It died on me spectacularly about ten months after I bought it. Fucking hell though, 0-60 in around 5.5 seconds just blew my mind after learning to drive in a 1.6 Corsa...

I had a series of short term lease cars due to my dad working for a car company, then bikes for a bit.

First car a owned was a mini, has 5 minis kin total as Mrs A had one as well and at that time you could run one cheap by getting bit from the scrap yard, couldn't have afforded 2 cars other wise. The last one has 12" wheel disc brakes 1275 MG Metro engine and various other bits only me and MM would have any interest in !

I'm currently lovin my old LR Disco 2, it does drink diesel but it's a proper car built in a shed by men in oily overalls :D

First bike was a Vespa 150 Super 1968, I was ..ahhhmem 15, never got nicked though

That is a sweet as fuck looking chevette. Im going to find a picture of my £130 chevette that I had when I was 17 for comedy comparison. It was so shit I was embarrassed driving it. The glass lense in front of the speedo fell out and I decided to ping the speedo needle......and it broke off. In a moment of tennage genius i decided to sellotape a cocktail stick to what remained of the speedo needle.

Got pulled over by the cops and they asked "What speed were you going?"

I Replaied "Probably about 40 or 50, but its hard to tell as my speedo is a cocktail stickl!"

The cop called his fellow officer to have a look over and they both stood about laughing at it and about how shit my car was........with home fitted deep pile bathroom capet on the floors. - Previous owner liked a bit of shite DIY!
