so what kind of excuse do you use when you get pulled over for being some place you shouldn't? me?

p0-p0- what are you doing here?
me- meeting some girl
p0-p0- from where
me- from craigslist
p0-p0- whats the address?
me- uhhhm, uhh, back there
p0-p0- why are you really here, what's your flavor?
me- i don't know what you're talking about
p0-p0- get the hell outta here!

You don't say anything. The cops know why you're there, and if they don't, they'll assume it's nothing good anyways and not believe you.

Best to not say anything. You technically aren't allowed to drive without a destination, so always have a destination in mind (browsing for a gas station, looking for a place to eat, et cetera, is better than saying you're meeting a frieind).

Destination (even if it's false), name, and providing ID are all you need to do. Say no to searches, be firm, adamant, and polite.

Know the hood, Look for a store..land mark..etc.Learn all ins and outs(road ways) know what your entering thru and thru(for the short cut excuse), if entering a culdesac and blue lighted, don't be rude..polite..or a smartass..be firm..know your rights, the 4th etc..Depends on situation for good plausible excuses their..just try your hardest to not shake..which i know is almost impossible..firm eye contact, even when high..dont cower at any cost..no consents..just my little tttwwiisstted 2cents at the moment, take it for what its worth..better yet tell him none of your business, ask him where he's been..or just tell him thats my private life sir which is none of your concern, you take the chance of him taking the law into his own hands there..i.e ripping you out, bullshit unconsented searces, ok imma stop now i just caught an insane drain..

why aren't you allowed to drive without a destination? that seems incredibly stupid to me.

It's one of many laws that I'd consider last in priority for removal because it's stupid...

Driving causes accidents, if you don't have a reason to be on public roads then don't be on them. It can be seen as a form of loitering.

would you pull over for a random unmarked car claiming to be police in the hood? are they allowed to chase you in that kind of environment?

Yes, the cops in baltimore are very strict and quite in touch with the rough reality of the area. More then once I've been stopped by cops in guerilla gear, street clothes, and camouflage who proceeded to terry-pat me before saying anything. They hide in the alleys and pop out when you walk by, or snag you as you stop at a light or turn.

Just be adamant, polite, firm, and confident. 'Know' where you're going, your name, and have ID on you.

It'll be a brute but concise experience and if you know your rights, be polite, firm, adamant, and polite, it'll be that much quicker. These guys work very fast so they'll pass you over quick if they think you're gonna hassle them with rights. Just don't put anything in the obvious, don't carry when you're out copping, and get the fuck out after you cop.

Fortunately for druggies baltimore dealers work in large groups and have watch-outs everywhere (every black guy on a bike is patrolling for cops and local trouble) so where you find dealers and large groups of people flocking you won't find cops. Be weary of dealers by themselves and young dealers. Always go to older dealers with large numbers of cars driving to them and leaving quickly, with multiple people around them, and kids on bikes loitering around, and aren't hanging in front of a store porch.

Wow. Real good advice there. If there's one thing that will impress a cop, it's a citizen who KNOWS HIS RIGHTS. And sarcasm, too. Cops really dig that, so lay it on thick. 8)

More like a sure-fire way to get searched, arrested, and perhaps beaten to boot.

Oh, and seeing how he's a police officer, the law already IS in his "own hands."

if you don't have any drugs on you, what can the officer do? arrest you for being in the hood? even if you said, "officer, i was here trying to score some marijuana" i still don't think there is much they could charge you with.

what about this:

"officer, i was driving around looking for my brother/sister/family member/etc....i know they come into this neighborhood very often, and i'm really worried about them. i don't know this area very well, but i'm really desperate to try and find their car or something around here."

actually, that is a true story for me. i was driving around a ghetto part of a large city which is known to be "the place" to get whatever drugs because i really was looking for a family member of mine that i thought might be around there. and as i was driving, i was thinking this exact thought......gee, i'm cruising up and down these streets and not really going anywhere in particular, it probably looks like i'm trying to get drugs....hope i don't get pulled over or something.

i figured if i did get pulled over, that was my story and i'd just tell the truth. luckily i didn't get pulled over.

Like i said, KNOW yyour rights, and know when their being infringed, be respectfull..EYE CONTACT DIRECT..DONT LOOK DOwN OR COWER..is this not what was said?.I said use no srcasam whatsoever when addressing a cop..it's pretty obvious as to why.Surefire way u described to get searched is exactly the opposite of what was described in prev. posts, their was a touch of sarcassm involved in the previous post if you tended to read it..Law in his own hands? What broad brush stroke of dragnet police minor/major personal infringement's do i need to site here?I mean come on Iv'e been let go with over a qball about 4years ago..Was that a break?..Or taking laws into his own hands?Anything can be writtten in a report later..Flip on cops or something for your daily dose of constitutional conundrums. Officers need to stay WITHIN the laws buddy I.E The Const..P.Procedure..and just plain crimanl law, You and the officer i think need to rip that big S off your chest..By all means, You point out every infringementof personal consitutional rights with respect to an officer, but respect is determind mostly by officer, like i said situations a compelety useless to comment on...Just educate yourself somewhat on laws in your state/area and you should be well than avg. equippedeven if you have to tighten/Swoll up..just doont be captain obvious Try your hardest not to twitch or shake..Very hard yes..But iv'e known/Wokred for Ex- LEO's and the first, vvery first thing they look for is shaking.

im wasted and none of it probably makes sense but who gives a fuckk! rant on little man, google some laws while i'm at work tomorrow..then come abck and destory my post it'll make you feel better..i promise

MushroomTip, it's not only your name now that makes you appear to me as a white suburban 14 year old who wears "G-unit" clothing and uses words like "the system" and "the man".

Not that I care. Just thought I'd tell you how foolish you sound man. Do you even know what the fourth amendment entails completely? GIGGLE69

Do you have a cite for this law? Never have I heard driving with no destination in mind construed as loitering.

My advice? Don't look out of place in the ghetto, blend in with your dress and car.

A white boy in the ghetto may constituite a reason for the cop to search. If he does, there's not much you can do. Your word vs his. Who do you think the court would decide truthful? (If you even decided to spend the thousands to actually get to trial--unlikely unless you had a superb public defender who thought it would be worth the risk. Extremely unlikely.)

Don't "hold your ground", Don't fucking talk back or argue politics or law, like a 16 year old getting pulled over.

It's YES SIR, NO SIR, NAME, AGE, D.O.B.
